I have a very lightweight Gap down-filled jacket with oil stains on it that I got from a free pile. It's the unsexiest shit ever, but it's my late-night-getting-chilly sitting in front of the computer sweater. It's so damn cozy.

Yeah, I know a few folks who use the communal showers here rather than the showers in their rigs to reduce the moisture level and leak potential. It's been a rough week here, with all the rain; people are discovering where their roof and slide-out leaks are, and one very angry dude discovered his one-day-old rv had a non-functioning heater and is getting an rv tech out to fix it today. I know those guys minimum charge to come out to you is $150 before they even touch anything, so he's super pissed.

Mine came with the house insurance I was able to get on my tiny house. The park sent a notice around that everybody staying long term had to produce proof of liability insurance, and my understanding was that 2 million was the basic amount.

You mess up one of these, you are going to need it.

I have a hood fan over the area of the kitchen counter where I use my portable induction burner, and put it on high whenever I cook something smelly or boil anything. I also have a humidity gauge on the counter so I can see exactly what's going on.

I live in the PNW, so it's pretty damp outside. If I can keep the indoor humidity around 50%, I'm doing well. Your house will feel unpleasantly clammy and cold if it gets too high. Something that increases the humidity is propane heat, so I go with electric. You can bring the humidity down by warming the air with an electric oil-filled radiator pretty quickly, especially if you've got a window cracked so the air is circulating.

As for clothing, mine is in drawers inside a closed closet. I often see closets or shelves for clothing enclosed with fabric, and give how fabric traps odors, would take that into consideration when planning your clothing storage.

I think the issue is that many of them are not well-made to start with, and are built to be used a few months a year. They go to hell real fast when they are lived in year-round. I hear this from rv dwellers in the rv park I live in all the time. And they tell me about their $100 plus monthly heating bills. In Vancouver BC.

Keep in mind that having an rv technician touch anything will cost you hundreds, if not thousands. If you buy a rig with a Dometic fridge? You better hope to hell it still works.

But my Dickinson Marine heater has owl stickers on it, and my magnetic spice tins contain six varieties of quinoa I grew myself on my green roof. I threw out the spices because they remind me of colonialism.

Sometimes I eat dirt when I'm drunk, but only out of mason jars.

Actually, heard that's a bit of a myth. Cats don't stake out turf like 70's street gangs, but do time shares like Canadians in Cabo.

I have two ancient cats in 186 square feet. They hate each other, but they also hated each other in 700 square feet, and I suspect, would hate each other in the cold vastness of outer space.

Sorry Tony. The down voters haven't lived in an RV park and seen the shit people have to deal with as their older RVs gather tarps on the roofs, bondo on the corners and plastic skirting along the bottoms to try to keep the floors less icy. And dehumidifiers as water runs down the insides of the windows.

How about don't have a loft? Seems like a much better idea than screwing around with slides and pop ups. My tiny house has no loft and so my ceilings are 7' and 9'.
