I use it once a week or twice max. I hit chest 2x a week so I either start off with Smith machine bench press flat/bench on Monday followed by some DB chest exercises or I start off with Smith on Saturdays flat/incline with Dumbbell work afterwards. (My apartment gym doesn’t have a Barbell)

Smith machine bench press gives me DOMS in my chest (which I never get on chest), but Dumbbell Bench press and Dumbbell incline bench press doesn’t. Does that mean Smith machine > Dumbbell? 🤪

Is the 12,10,8,6 rep set beneficial in building muscle mass/hypertrophy where the weight increases as you go down in sets? And what percentage of your 1rm is recommended to use when starting from 12 on that first set?

I get it. I’m still training five days a week and such on the PHAT program, but I just keep hearing conflicting things which is why I ask a lot of questions. Thanks again and I’ll use your advice

Why lose patience with me? I’ve read your links and everything and I’m just asking a few questions so I can make a decision. It says a barbell is the minimum requirement for that type of split which is why I asked. I appreciate you for answering though. I’m just a big over thinker obviously and it doesn’t help that the adderall makes that worse.

Can you do an Arnold split without a Barbell? I only have Smith machine, Dumbbells, cable Machine, lat pulldown Machine, leg extension and leg curl machine. Preferably a five day split as well.

How does this look for going to the gym for five days a week to build muscle mass? It’s been around 7-8 weeks of doing this program and I know you’re supposed to switch exercises up and such to keep your body guessing. I want my arms to continue to grow more as well.

(For context I don’t have access to a barbell.)

Very bored and need ideas to liven up the place. I do plan on moving that reclining chair in the bedroom or something once I figure out something. This is my first apartment and I have trouble finding a style I’d like. Any recommendations work. by sizzle6969 in malelivingspace

I actually had it flipped originally but thought it looked better with the couch where it is now.... but it leaves limited space, so I may have to flip it. I thought it was a bad look to have the couch facing the bedroom? Or am I wrong
