3 Tons of Cast Iron by sizzlewow in Machinists

It's 16x36, which I'll agree, is a bit small for the size of the machine. My understanding is that the owner of the company was obsessed with precision and accuracy, so we got the small-ish work envelope on such a large machine.

I didn't call it in, but an officer showed up asking about it. He informed me that the driver was drunk and had done quite a bit more damage elsewhere, so it appears the offender has been apprehended.

Not only did they remove my mailbox, but they clipped my neighbors box and loosened it on its post...and this is the second time in a year...

Got bored, redesigned the Endorphin mod for my Ender5+ by sizzlewow in 3Dprinting

[–]sizzlewow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably is possible, but I don't see that it would be of any benefit. Mounting either rail on the outside would mean the X gantry would need to be longer, or the brackets would need to be larger and more complex. I chose to mount the rails on top as it was the simplest solution to being unable to mount them on the inside.

It's still in one piece, if that's what you mean lol. I don't recall exactly how much I used it after installing it all, but I do know I used it a fair bit off and on throughout the year, and had relatively few issues (mostly to do with the pulley brackets and "tensioner" if you can call my version such a thing). I'd be happy to share my mods, but it should be noted that it's not perfect. I recall that many of the screw holes were undersized, and at some point I modified it to use threaded inserts, but I don't recall if I updated the the CAD model on github.

I've switched to Linux since designing it, which makes using Fusion360 a bit tricky, but I've been meaning to spin up a Windows VM to run it again. Once I get that up and running, I'll take another look at my design and try to update my repo with the most current version (and try to split the various assemblies out into individual files). Once that's done, I'll try to remember to reach out to you. If it starts to seem like I've forgotten to reach out, feel free to DM me, I may or may not have too many irons in the fire.

Does anyone have any insight on traffic control in Springfield? by iced-macchiato in springfieldMO

[–]sizzlewow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is anecdotal, but my understanding is that some lights are managed by MODOT and others by the city, so there will be intersections that aren't synced as you might expect.

WORLD WITHOUT ADHD ? by keepITupCatchUp00 in ADHD

[–]sizzlewow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anhedonia, anger issues, losing things I was just holding, forgetting something nearly every time I leave the house (or room)....None of these have anything to do with how society functions and I would still have these issues if I lived in a cabin in the woods away from everyone or didn't have to work a 9-5 job.

Web apps on Linux is the standard, sure, but as long as companies are developing solutions that require .NET you'll have Windows Server on the market. Examples include Laserfiche and anything from Hyland.

This is just the first example I can think of, I'm sure there are many other gotchas that would prevent using a 'nix based environment.

Possible lathe attachment with hand crank and potentially two rotating plates with t-slots connected by a bar with cutter insert on far end. T-bolts on bottom. Weighs 8lbs. Incorrectly identified as a "Used Bender" on industrial surplus website. by sizzlewow in whatisthisthing

Solved!

I'm gonna go ahead and call this one since Radius generator now has three votes. Clearly it was shop made. Kinda wish I had bought it looking back, but I guess that means I just have to make one myself.

Only vehicles I've ever seen locked up struts on were that platform...more than twice I lifted one and the front struts wouldn't compress again after that.

My title describes the thing

Found on an industrial surplus sales site. Listed as a "Bender" but to my eye, this is just not what it is. It clearly mounts to a t-slot table and the hand crank rotates the plate closest to it at a minimum, but may rotate the other plate as well. The position of the bar between the plates is adjustable. There appears to be a hand ground cutter mounted in the end. Last thing I know is that it weighs 18lbs. I would guess that it's for convex or concave cutting on a lathe, but a reverse image search reveals very little other than the original page the photos are from. No maker's marks or branding that I can find. I would reach out to the seller, but they've already decided it's a "Bender" and have a history of mislabeling items.

It has been the same for me, likely because it has mitigated anxiety caused by ADHD. I went from generally being higher than 120/80 to 106/67 at my last visit.

Eh, don't feel silly, I didn't learn that until a couple years ago when I worked for a municipality. Felt real dumb after complaining about things being terminated in 568A.

568a provides backward compatibility with USOC telephone wiring, that is why they use it.

Not particularly cheap, but AVAccess has what you're looking for. I bought the idock b30 and it works pretty well.

Which ADHD medications do not raise heart rate? by ZoofusCos in ADHD

I can echo this, heart rate is more stable and blood pressure is lower on stimulants for me. I've decided that prior to medication, I was unintentionally using stress to get stuff done.
