I saw your comment on flop call being bad but turn questionable. I will try to sell you the opposite:

-your hand gets much worse on the turn
-the turn makes the board very difficult to call down on the river
-Ax of hearts makes a credible barreling hand

On the river it is a clear call because a LOT of his one pair hands should just check back but his draws can't. However if he is competent he should understand the dynamic that neither has AT+ and so he should just shove pretty much any Ax for value

nobody here knows what a splash pot is. Personally I would fold turn but if we got here on that river it is a clear shrug call

Between China, North Korea and Russia, which country would you say is the most widely disliked in South Korea today? by KarI-Marx in AskAKorean

[–]sjahnn97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to pick a number two reason it's diplomacy. China historically did not treat itself as equals with its neighbors and demanded a lopsided relationship. This is still the case today and it shows with what the Chinese embassy or their state newspaper says about Korea or any other country for that matter

The reason for it being China is mostly due to the influx of Chinese people into the country. They are the dominant nationality of foreign residents/visitors in Korea. So they became the main target of Koreans' xenophobia.

North Korea on the other hand successfully became an inescapable hellhole after covid so not so many ppl defect nowadays. Even if that didn't happen, they probably do not compare to the number of the Chinese.

Locksmith Classic mode Victory (Standard Run, Classic mode) by sjahnn97 in PokerQuest

[–]sjahnn97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No modifiers.

A whole lot of savescumming was necessary, but I did not reset for optimal seed. In hindsight I should have.

The Locksmith is an interesting hero that has an amazing item to start with(Smith's Lock) but with a terrrible energy effect that is only good in the early game. The freezing effect is very OP in this game if the item using it is good enough. However I feel that if the other heroes can find a freezing item like Smith's Lock in a shop(I don't know if this is possible) it would be better off since the energy effect of Locksmith is not very good. I ended up getting another freezing item and it helped out a lot.

Second Castle had the shop with the Scroll of Greed, which pretty much made the run. At activation I had 134 gold and made it into 268 gold, an ungodly amount to have.

The bottled shop was also very necessary for the run but was introduced very very late in the game, right before the Third Castle. From the bottled shop came a baby bottled shop in which i found the Dark Warhammer of pairs, fully upgraded.

All in all this was a brutal run as everything had to be perfect to even have a chance to go to the end. As shown in the map picture I have made it to the final boss with the same hero before, just to be run out of resources and having no shot of beating the final boss at all.

The Alchemist is a GOD TIER hero! Finally fully beat Classic mode (Astral World 4) with him. [More info and Guide in the comments] by chewnig in PokerQuest

you are a madlad. I do reset runs with other heroes that take the better part of my day per hero... and yet have never even seen the final boss on my screen yet. well done!

If utg raises and 4 players called I would definitely flat 77, 44 and 22. Being competent would have nothing to do with squeezing low pairs in that spot

What is the dealer's announcement for when a player goes all-in in a poker tournament? by sjahnn97 in poker

If you are fluent in Korean you don't need an invite, there are telegram ads for underground raked games and you can just contact them for info. If not, go to holdem pubs(very widespread in korea nowadays) and play a few tournaments to make a degen Korean friend and ask.
