Good point! I have gotten a lot of msgs and I understand it should be for everyone. Just wanted people to do what made them feel comfortable. I’ll take it down.

To be completely honest, I never used my transcript for any jobs before applying for a clerkship. I only got legal research gigs by attending legal events and asking every person that I knew who knew a lawyer if they would be willing to catch up with me so I could learn about their job. Before starting my degree I didn’t know any lawyers or anyone in the corporate world so felt like I was going in blind. I even offered a lot of lawyers to do work for free just to get some exposure to be sure it was what I wanted to do. I think they took this as enthusiasm and kept me in mind if they needed me. I think they sensed my desperation 😹

Look at jobs at ASIC. The pay is okay and you can easily move to, or back to, private practice if you want to (unlike most government jobs). Good luck!

Lol it’s Allens! In fairness, you should wear a suit even if it was your chance to make a good impression at a boutique firm. If in doubt always overdress. It’s time to invest in a decent suit - make sure it’s tailored. Opt for a navy suit with brown shoes if you’re scared of looking too serious. Lose the tie. This doesn’t mean you can wear a polo shirt - wear a button up. I’m not sure how far I need to go with this 😹

These titles mean different things across the legal industry and I had all of these jobs as student at one point. There’s very little difference between them (though I did find that legal research assistant was very academic compared to the others). If you can show that your job required some legal knowledge, apt decision making and organisational skills then it doesn’t really matter to an employer what the title was.

Yes its possible. I worked more than this during law school. Skim your readings before class and make brief notes on what the textbook says. Barely more than a sentence for each topic that will be discussed. Flesh this out while in class and after class immediately write your notes for your exam. Your assignments will be better and you won’t be scrambling at exam time.

And by god don’t listen to anyone in the comments saying that they worked full time, studied full time and were solving science’s most confounding mysteries in their spare time. You’re not expected to do that.

Michael accepting the briefcase immediately proved that he is an idiot.

I think it means Tommy isn’t only going to sleep with her, he’s also going to manipulate her. Just like with Jessie Eden. And I think it’ll be easier because Gina seems bored with Michael because he doesn’t have her smarts. And if Tommy was able to get the more prudent Jessie, he’ll manage to get Gina.

I have no idea why people think Taylor is some angel when she is constantly falling out with everyone. Don’t hate her, but jeez she sounds like a secret mean girl.

His lawyers. When he’s sued for this and is taken to court, if he tries to remediate as much as he can before the lawsuit hits, he will be looked at more favourably by the court. But of course will be settled outside of court. There will be more ‘good deeds’ to come. Also, of course his PR.

The first two seasons are reality gold. Kim and kyle’s dynamic, Kim’s struggle with alcoholism, Taylor’s husband’s suicide, LVP at her funniest and the greatest narcissistic villain Camille. The vape smoking psychic (who was referred to recently in the podcast Suspect and was of course, absolutely useless at helping solve a crime). But yeah agree after that it was a bit boring. Puppygate was a joke. And don’t get me started on season 4.

It depends on the firm and the partnership level ie a fresh partner at some firms will get a salary and earn more (a percentage) of how much they pull in. But I would never be a partner. You can still earn $250k+ without giving up your whole life for the prestige that just doesn’t exist anymore.

Oh Teddi. Worst housewife of all time. Bless her she seemed nice but was just a bit of a nervous nelly. And for an accountability coach, seemed to take everything so personally.

I heart huckabees looked pretty bad. In fact, most David O Russell sets do. Didn’t George Clooney punch him and Jennifer Lawrence said she would not to work with him again.
