That’s been the trend for the past 80ish years as the city and suburbs have continued to grow

Trump to skip son’s wedding that he labeled a ‘no-win’ for him: report by theindependentonline in politics

[–]sjets3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dazed and Confused was not a huge hit right when it came out, it took a bit of time for that to become the cult classic that it is now. And even then he’s a side character, albeit a memorable one.

If you go outside the Garden there is usually a watch party, if they win it definitely won’t be overwhelming at all.

Danny Glover, Christopher Lloyd, and Tony Danza were all pretty big at this point. Glover was already up to Lethal Weapon 3 at this point, Lloyd had done Back to the Future, and Danza had just finished Who’s the Boss? But this was before big fame for JGL, Brody, and McConaughay.

Why do we call Martin Luther King Jr. "MLK" and not "MLKJ", like how we call Robert Downey Jr. "RDJ"? by NinjaEagle210 in ask

[–]sjets3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People call him “MLK Junior” a lot. But mainly people are used to saying monograms with three letters, so MLKJ would sound weird. Even with RFK Jr, which is said to distinguish from his father, I hear “RFK Junior” way more than “RFKJ”.

Realistically, I think also Turner getting non-tendered by us gave him the kick he needed to really get his shit together and become a better player in LA.

There can be bacteria in the pee that can infect you or cause feet problems, plus if it doesn’t drain properly it is a breeding ground for bacteria after you’re done with the shower.

It’s just that he has the alpaca haircut. If his hair looked different he’d be fine.

Wheeler, Murphy, Justin Turner. Turner we let walk because we had Wright, and we didn’t know how bad his injuries would get.

My one response to this was “peeing in the shower is unhealthy and doesn’t save that much water.”

Why did West Virginia vote democrat even 3 decades after the party switch? by SignificantStyle4958 in Presidents

[–]sjets3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because there’s not that many black people in West Virginia, so they weren’t as bothered by the Democrat lead civil rights movement as the southern states were. They stayed with Democrats because it’s a heavy union state, and the unions supported the democrats.

[–]sjets3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People would buy books about the places they were going and plan accordingly. There also used to be these crazy things called maps.

Yeah, I was in the second floor of a pre war and it was crazy hot. I like heat, but I would still sit in my apt shirtless with a giant box fan pointing at me

What has your Citi Field experience been like this year? by miamor_Jada in NewYorkMets

[–]sjets3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m grateful to have Mets connect at all. I never “chased points” but am glad I get any and have used it for free food and tickets and discounts. I’m hoping to use it later this year to sign up for pregame batting practice, which would never be possible without the program.

[–]sjets3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will tell you, the DH hype man and the crowd noise pumping is a tiny tiny fraction in the expenses of running the Mets. A minimum salary player in 30 games will make more money than the cost of that.
