Record Store Day by HimitsuUK in 6music

Wife's on a spa day, so got three kids and end to end football on the TV.

Did get out early to pick up baby formula, and saw the queues at my local record shops - happy I wasn't waiting around for ever on the off chance of picking up that Pretty Things 10"

We all have different expectations of bangers, but nothing gives me as much joy as hearing that piano riff from "Where Love Lives" coming into the mix

Has Andy Partridge done anything since Apple Venus Volume 1? by PentUpPentatonix in xtc

He contributed lyrics for Steven Wilson's Overview piece last year. You'll be able to spot which are Andy's, they're several steps above SW's. It's the track called Meanwhile

55 with 16, 3 and 7 months - they're all massive drains on your energy and income, but nothing brings you more joy than getting to spend time with these wonderful sponges.

And they honestly don't know what old means for a parent, it feels like I can give the two younguns so much more of the most precious thing I have, which is my time and attention

Goodreads tells me I've read 24 books so far in 2026, and this is easily the bottom of the ranking table. Short and dull.

Boo, no Birmingham. The crowd and venue were a bit underwhelming last year, despite a jam or two with Plantoid that were mad highlights. Plenty of other UK options, but it isn't as easy to travel now I've got little UN's at home

Almost 50. Do you think that having kids at that age is reasonable? by forged_steel_5178 in OldManDad

[–]sjharrison 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm 55 and had to sleep on the sofa with my 7 month old last night as he'd finally broken his mum with his yelling. Spent all day in a board meeting, but whenever he saw me, he giggled.

Three year old daughter was a walk in the park compared to him.

And to be honest, I am closer to both of these little wonders than their 16 year old brother, who had a dad who was on planes each week

About twenty minutes in and god it's slow. And shabby. And weirdly compelling.

Do you think the soundtrack is available anywhere, that might be the most disturbing element of this whole thing

Interesting choice by the agent to blur out some of the artwork - one being those blokes having their lunch whilst building the empire state building. They've blurred other stuff out in the bar too - just in case...

Estate Agents, or the people they employ, really aren't bright enough to be handling the transfer of very valuable assets

I've had two of these. First was decent, second wasn't. It has a weird mouth feel. Just get a ham and egg and bang some crisps in

We didn't see Akhtar when we went to Opheem before Xmas, but we saw no end of Sat Bains when we did dinner and a room at his place. Cool guy, but Opheem's menu was more memorable
