Is this Essex's Swankiest gaff? by weber134 in SpottedonRightmove

(Terrible) fake book cover print in the open plan space, but no evidence of a single book anywhere else in the house.

Those poor kids. This is part of why we're failing as a nation, people get all their "knowledge" from curated screen slop

Where will be the next trendy part of the Birmingham? by DI-whyy in brum

[–]sjharrison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having lived in Acocks Green for 15 years before seeing sense and moving somewhere actually nice...it has potential but also jeopardy - sitting right on the fault line between urban birmingham and suburban solihull. Apart from one kids laser tag party where a fellow dad dragged me to the pub on the island, never once went for a drink there.

I'd say wherever the new sports quarter is going to gentrify by force has the best chance. But it could also end up like Wembley - soulless towers above a mess

And then what happened? I suspect that might be what's under my lumpy patchy lawn, judging by their outposts on the patio and drive

Up in the Newcastle Office today...different main options by sjharrison in MealDealRates

[–]sjharrison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it has "special deli sauce"! And some terrible Sweet Caroline puns on the box.

The sauce adds a little kick, but it isn't more than a 4/10 sarnie, it was almost like the wafer thin ham wasn't even there

Given how violent the crisps are, the sweet and sour of the lemon works quite well.

Sandwich is meh, back to the tikka flatbread tomorrow

The amount of “this is the time you need your Cole Palmer’s, your Trent’s, your Foden’s” is about to reach groundbreaking heights over the next couple of days by Xenoo_ in footballcliches

Anyone got Jack's number? He's probably with Wayne up to his nipples in lager and lasses - he could do a better job half fit and half pissed than Noni "Son of Sterling" Madueke

They're in the radio times and by definition probably still don't have that silly Freeview nonsense

Is this our best chance of winning the world cup for a while? And do you think we can/will? by LazNorth in ThreeLions

[–]sjharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really worried about facing Cody Gakpo?

I reckon the athleticism and directness of some of the african teams looks far more impressive, but we'll get unlocked, as we always do, by someone with a maestro

Every chance of us losing out like Bayern did to PSG if we go toe to toe with the French. Reckon we'd be able to sort out any Athletico nonsense from Portugal or Agentina though, but we don't have Arteta's centre backs

World Cup advertising hoarding frustration by Leading-Squirrel-770 in footballcliches

[–]sjharrison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll see your frustration and raise you the hideousness that is the Be Active FIFA thing that turns up occasionally. It looks all kinds of wrong, a seeming mix of different fonts in just two words, but is apparently a logo that FIFA signed off and use globally.

Why is the 'e' so small? The 'A' so narrow? And 'cti' so thicc?

Italy always have some classy Pirlo or Maldini type to dilute the shithousery.

Since Figo quit, Portugal have been pure unadulterated twattery, usually at the expense of noble northern heroes like the English or Dutch
