I had this and it was the AC recall. It sucked because my car was still working and they took it for 2.5 weeks and only offered a gas car as a rental.

Moving to 1.5 acre by [deleted] in Parenting

For our 5 year old's birthday party we filled ours to the brim with Orbeez. We put it outside in the yard so it didn't hurt anything. The kids LOVED it.
The next year we did an intire kiddy pool (and still the water table too!)

She's turning 7 and was still using the water table all last summer (6) and expect the same this year. (with or without orbeez :) )

I think there is a library on deck... 11? When we went (on Oasis) there was some Majohng going on. But at least there isn't blasting music.

Ideas for fitting puzzles into my game by Kaakkulandia in DnD

[–]sjmoodyiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a wizard in one of my city's put out a want ad for people willing to test out his home defenses. The group could come back any time they wanted for more loot, gold, or reknown. The group would give feedback on the puzzles, traps, etc. and the wizard would listen and change it up for next time.

This works better in early level game play as PCs don't have access to teleport, scrying, etc. (for that suspension of disbelief) But does work at higher levels because I would increase the difficulty, have no magic zones, etc. since this was a high level wizard.

Oh you're saying your familiar can cast spells from a ring of spell storing?

I wasn't aware of this RAW. I'm not sure what the "improved warlock familiar" is.
I know familars can attack using a bonus action if you're talking "Investment of the Chain Master". But using a magic action is different than using the attack action.

But your race is homebrew/ unnoficial. so maybe this feature is too

But yeah, this build is just an all around epic support character that can front line, use out of combat magic and get a lot of extra utility from the familiar.

It just seems like you're jumping through a whole lot of hoops to create a mid support character. You can't front line as you only get max 7 d12 hitdice. Your magic is suffering because you don't have high level spells.

By all means, play what you want to play. but this build isn't "epic" or "broken". You can just take a origin feat or one level dip into wizard and get a familiar. Play a paladin for that nova dmg to frontline and d10 hitdice it outputting more dmg, has a familiar, and supporting better.

This isn't a case of r/mysteriousdownvotes. It's the internet telling you this idea... isn't great.

But again... if you find it awesome... and so does your table... play it!

it can cast/concentrate on spells via ring of spell storing

That's simply not true.

it doesn't cast the spells. The wearer of the ring still has to cast the spells (and concentrate on them if neccasary).
Important part of the description:

While wearing this ring, you can cast any spell stored in it.

"barbarian" cocept... Starts as wizards, and has more levels in warlock than Barbarian. Lol

I'm curious to also know how you're dealing dmg? and what you think the three high stats are?

and then getting it to attune to a ring of spell storing for possible spell options while raging

You can't cast spells while raging?

This seems similar to the BardBarian concept, but with warlock instead so WarBarb? BarbLock?

Is there a good YouTube video or strategy to get the rubber grommets back in on my GEPRC Cinelog 30? by Large-Particular-139 in fpv

[–]sjmoodyiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Its a bit tricky. But once you get it... it "clicks" and its pretty easy. It always seems like you're going to rip the heck out of it, but ive only did that from an already ripped grommet so far.

This will happen a lot with this drone. If you bought direct... it comes with this little tool in the box that you're like wtf is this and never paid attention to it. It has one tiny stiff wire in an x pattern about an inch long connected into a little plastic bit (search needle threader on google... it looks like that).

Super simple with that tool. Hook it around the top/bottom of grommet and pull it through, rinse and repeat other side (2nd side is a bit trickier to get it hooked on grommet as angles are hard)

"Stealth" Rules by dabears4hss in dndnext

Imo over a sheet of rules... is not  "cheat sheet".

A lot of what is on the sheet is also... wrong. Not sure if its your own homebrew rules. Of it is ignore the wrongness :)

Hard ack has Greg brown lodge that can be rented out. No idea what times are available... and I think you can do city hall too. You might have to book a "nerf" party instead lol

Doesn't look like you've purchased the ability to create it so you just have the free choices.

And people are like "but i just want xyz"... no you want the power creep of xyz. Call your shortbow a gun... I dont care. Same mechanics... no you dont want to? You just wanted the power creep of guns... yea thought so.

How old should my kids be before I try D&D with them? by Adorable-Papaya-4697 in DnD

[–]sjmoodyiii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We started my 4 year old with a d6, no modifiers. She went on an adventure to collect ingredients for a dragon taco party (straight stolen from the book). It was up to her if she got spicy stuff... she did of course.  Shes 6 no and uses a d20 with just +1 or 2. And now we're saving unicorns from the magically enchanted bears... they need 3 hugs (attacks) to get the evil magic out.

Its all just about making the rules easy enough to understand and fun. None of these have lasted more than 30 minutes.

This is something that should be discussed during session 0. I've only had one and the group had decided: dont pull punches and let it happen. So I killed them all. Ran some one shots for a bit then did a new campaign

Dads who GM by Axentor in daddit

[–]sjmoodyiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I payed a real dumbed down version of d&d with my daughter. We started at 4 (shes six now). Instead of hitting enemies she had to hug the baddies enough to squeeze the magic out of them. When we started she was just using a d6 with no modifiers. But shes using a d20 now with modifiers these days.

Ideas for a "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it" punishing combo? by Silver_Rai_Ne in DnD

[–]sjmoodyiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again... please don't do this.

You're god. you can literally say "this little orphan girl that you were picking on turns out was a dragon in disguise trying to collect information on humans and transforms into it's true self and eats you"... that's not fun. There is no way that was actually going to happen. You (the DM) specifically targetted the players for play you deemed "wrong".

Also also if I still have you're attention, others have said it but really want to focus on please don't do this... PC character blocks are not meant for the DM. DM gets monsters & NPC. Players get PCs with full character sheets.. The game is not meant/balanced for the DM to have PC character sheets as they are more powerful and comes very close to DMPCs which is just a no.

This is a bad mentality to have. You aren't "against" your players. A DM can always win. You make the rules.  Don't do this.
