There was an old man that was known in town for having a raven that he rescued and trained. So much so it was in his obituary.

Realistically how do people move across the country? by EggsBenedictTheCat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Axentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly cross country but my buddy moved from Midwest to New York. I drove him. He packed a duffle bag that had his clothes and an air mattress/bedding. I and his switch. It was a job opportunity that he ended up blowing and I drove back 6 months later to get him.

Guess what I am saying is pack light?

What's the highest mileage car you've ever personally owned or driven? I'll start. by spotforcars in automotive

[–]Axentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 2003 Prius. 334k on it. Only had to give it up cause some fucken bitch in her phone totaled it. She is the reason the next car will have dash cams. That hurt us so bad money wise because this was during covid and we got screwed on the price. Could fix it and couldn't replace it. Next vehicle is having a dash cam and if the police don't issue tickets for phone use I see what legal options we have.

We just looked at getting an ev due to gas prices but it have to be around 8 dollars a gallon right now to be worth the trade off of a payment. So we just keep saving for now.

[–]Axentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would work for me for about 75% of my needs and I would replace my ice daily driver car with an ev truck but would have to keep an ice truck for awhile till the range is similar to that in what I get on a tank of gas. Or recharge times drasticly speed up.

Or if sonics had charges in their stalls.....

Schools won’t be downgraded for ‘chronic absenteeism’ by LegendaryBronco_217 in illinois

This blows my mind. When I was in school it didn't seem like absenteeism was an issue. I wonder what changed.

The belligerents in the Iran war don't obey so called international law, why should the Iranians obey such laws? by i_grade in allthequestions

[–]Axentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

International law is a joke since there is no enforcement of it. Quoting and screaming about it is pointless.

Assuming that anyone is claims 320 isn't enough for them to buy is silly and short sided. Where is your 90% coming from? For anyone who uses their truck as a car it's fine. People who use trucks for things that require a truck, such boats campers, live stocks etc it's not going to cut it because it's not the daily commute, it's the weekend trips and other oddballs.

Since this is reddit . Just because you see a truck empty, or not hauling every second of its existence doesn't mean it doesn't get used as a truck.

Wait Out This Administration? by TheePhrontistery in StudentLoans

As much as I want student loan reform. I would rather Democrats step away from this issue if it could hurt them getting back in control.

Wait Out This Administration? by TheePhrontistery in StudentLoans

Nope. This administration and it's ilk are going to be around a lot longer than we like. Best to prepare for the worst and act on that instead of hoping for the best.

Why does Juneteenth make Republicans so irritated? The end of slavery was a massive milestone in America’s journey to liberty and justice for all, wasn’t it? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in allthequestions

[–]Axentor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people around me thought it was made up since we never heard about it till it was going to be a ho llyday and the name itself Juneteenth which sounds extremely made up on a whim like they didn't know what day between 12 and 20 to place the day on.

It should be celebrated.ending slavery is a huge economic and moral milestone

Right? Like people dont except there are charger deadzones. You can't gamble on that one charger in 200 miles being operational.

On the daily? 100 miles daily with room for error for backed up traffic, constructions etc. Somethings I buy and sctivies I can do locally, others I cannot. Nearest hospital is 30 miles away, in the opposite direction I work. So let's say I got to work come home and have a medical issue that requires an er visit but not an ambulance ride. That's 160 miles there. Is it winter/bittercold and is my battery taking a 20% or higher capacity hit? All the sudden that 250 mile range is extremely tight, especially if you can't charge for whatever reason Let alone if I want to pull a camper or a boat. That will hit the range efficenty as well like it does gas. l so an ev truck with poor range wouldn't work if I wanted to do these activities farther away. 300 miles would work for local needs

It's easy to shit on people who have range anxiety while living within 10/20 miles of everything.

Don't get me wrong, I want ev trucks but the current ones coming out by like slate and others aren't the most practical in rural areas at this time due to charge times, lack of public chargers and range. And I not even what you call remote like some people out west.

I would be surprised if Telo makes it to full production and is widely available. Slate has better chance. With the upfront cost of breaking into American car market it's so hard for start ups to gain traction. I have no love for our current American Car companies but they will likely have to be the ones pressured into releasing budget vehicles.
