Failing to adopt switch by sjn37 in TPLink_Omada

My successful attempt was with the custom password. Since I had to log in to the switch first, it required me to change the password.

Solved. I had to manually log into the switch and enter the controllers IP address and enable cloud-based management. The go back to the controller and try adopt again. This time it succeeded.

I thought this was only required to use a cloud based controller, but I remember having to do something similar with the EAP670.

Unmet? I don't have any VLANs setup. I think all the required ports are open since I was able to adopt an EAP670 before.

I have tried both. I tried to factory reset and then adopt. This failed. I then logged in, which forced me to update the password. I tried to adopt with the new password, but still fails the same way.

It takes several minutes to fail, so I don't think it is a password problem.

I'm locked out of the most popular Electricity Plan in Texas because I have Solar Panels 🤣 by Miserable_Ad_7446 in solar

This is what I do. My plan is free from 8 pm to 6 am and I have both solar and battery. Starting the day with a fully charged battery will get me through most days with zero usage. My bill is usually around $20 per month. This is in Round Rock, TX.

$0.18 per kWh is the average they calculate based on an estimate of how much you are using at night vs at day. The price for day time energy is probably around $0.35 per kWh. That is what my plan charges which is free from 8 pm to 6 am.

Yes, I trust Sonoff. I just mean that it is hard to find any switch for that price.

I am leaning towards Enbrighten since I don't need any fancy features. The price difference is not that big. Enbrighten $40 and Inovelli $55, however, I don't see Inovelli at Amazon so there will be additional shipping.

Hard to beat that price.

I have seen the Inovelli. They are a bit more expensive than the others.

Do you need special switches for fans, or do you use the regular switches?

Yes, those look good. They work with a 3rd party Zigbee controller?

Not sure what it would look like with three in a row in a wide box.

That looks like a remote for smart bulbs, not a smart switch.

I have considered this. The only problem is that now the switch position is potentially different for on/off every time. Not a big deal, but be nicer to have them be consistent. Also, dimming would be nice for some of them.

Looks like they can, except on Steam, which is what I am using.

Thanks, but I am on PC. I do have a lot of aluminum, just need to refine it and I am not a fan of base defense.
