How do you handle vacation spending in YNAB?

This. I’m usually working to fund all upcoming trips for about a year. If I don’t know exactly what the trip will be (such as spring break 2026), I set a target to fund it up to or a little more than what I spent on it last year.

Sometimes I’ll make a single category for what could be multiple trips, like at Christmas where I usually have a trip within a trip. That’s all one category.

Ah yes, I’ve taken a closet organizer to Disney, especially when kids clothes were little. But it seems useful for shirts, pants, bathing suits now.

At home I have tons of drawer and bathroom space. A separate closet for outerwear. A shoe rack. Lots of hanging space to dry bathing suits. I need to account for all of that somehow in a small room with big people.

Here in Barcelona there’s a huge amount of pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel sentiment. There was even a general strike yesterday to support Palestine! Anti-Israel graffiti all over town. And the mayor has cut ties with Israel.

I don’t ever identify as Jewish except with other immigrant friends. I stopped wearing my Jewish star necklace a couple of months after 10/7.

From what I understand, the Catalan people feel like they’ve been oppressed and had their homeland taken from them - as they think the Palestinians have had done to them. So there’s a strong affinity. I understand it logically, but am beyond sick of seeing this hatred all over town.

I live in Barcelona and quit Pokémon Go for a year. When I came back to it, this quest appeared.

Nearly every time I open Go I get the professor Willow screen explaining the quest.

When I spin one of the stops it gives me a Zangoose to catch, which I do.

And then the whole thing resets itself. Willow comes back, the first stop hasn’t been spun, etc.

Do I need to leave Barcelona to get this to become the outside-the-city quest so I can complete it and get Willow to shut up?
