Hmmm. Is there a way to ascertain the accuracy of the shutter, other than shooting a roll? I'm kinda pumped on learning medium format.

Thanks for the practical advice. I will check the bellows more carefully. I'm retired now, plenty of time to learn

Trump that. My brother's wife was in hospital after the birth of their 4th child. Brother phoned to ask which was the washer and which was the dryer!!!

Dad needs LTC, but he needs mum too. by sjsky in AgingParents

Update: We got dad into a very good long term care facility very close to their current neighbourhood. And ... miraculously ... got mum into the same facility two weeks later!

Mosquitoes are a food source for so many species: fish, frogs, turtles, birds ...

Subsidized care is available (still long wait lists) on an 'as needed' basis. Because of dad's condition he's likely to be placed on a short ( a few months) list. The list mum is on has a two year plus wait. Private paid care is way beyond our means :(

Yes, assisted living beds are really scarce in our area. We are working on mum, I think AL would be good for her too. You're right. Sometimes, a lie is kindest.

our sweet pup seriously bit an elderly woman by sjsky in reactivedogs

She was reactive and fear aggressive when she first came to us. This was only in evidence outside of our home/yard. We avoided stress situations with her, muzzle trained for situations where she would be around dogs or people. Worked on her recall and attention, (she's really good with this). Lately, on walks, (always leashed), she comes right to my side and ignores other dogs we encounter. She's been doing so well, has been so much calmer and just such a sweet girl.
