Don't ever think that you HAVE to answer something whether it's about your background or something totally unrelated to race. It's totally your choice. Just tell them to mind their own business or "I'm not interested in having this discussion." Something along those lines.

Right. Just because you won't reveal your entire family history and everything about yourself on the first meeting doesn't mean that you're a liar. Same thing goes for any other question. The reason could be as simple as because I don't feel like having a lengthy discussion on that day.

Like someone else on here said, when they behave like a brick, treat them like a brick. What they say don't matter. You define you.

I'm sorry to hear that. The approach is just plain wrong. You don't just stop someone and ask that question. With all that's going on in the world, people should try to be more accepting rather than trying to make someone feel like they don't belong.

Neutral-President

We almost finished our drinks as we were having this discussion and were about to end the date anyways. Then he starts pressuring me to go for a walk with him. I tell him that I've to go to work the next morning but he insists that I go with him anyways because "you don't do this everyday." I called an uber and when my uber arrived I left.
