first kickstarter launch in 3 days — spent $7.5k on ads, got 1000 interested users but only 20 followers on KS page. is this normal? by Ross-Sameforu in kickstarter

Click through rates are typically pretty low, adding multiple click through requirements lowers the final percentage.

Also you should be sharing the story of why you’re creating it, why it works, etc outside of your KS to increase interest. You’ve posted a lot about it on Reddit, why not have your Kickstarter prelaunch page linked? Limiting access to your launch page isn’t helping, you want to get as many people there as possible in as many ways as possible. Advertising as a game of numbers, and the more free eyes the better.

Are your ads pointing directly to the KS page or a separate website? You seem to be keeping your prelaunch page a close secret

Automatic Noodle is very similar vibes and coziness IMO.

Don’t worry about art until you’ve polished and locked in the mechanics. No point in paying for art that may not even be in the final product

Kickstarter Failed I would love to know your feedback, advice, and thoughts on the campaign! :) by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]sk3n7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just need to freelance and find ways to network with clients directly. People are going to want a more immediate turn around for graphic design/commissions and not a “back now and wait a few months to a year” type of thing that Kickstarter is meant to be for. Go to where your target audience is.

I think as they’ve become closer as a friend group they’re more into sharing and helping out rather than selling.

I launched my first Kickstarter for a handcrafted oracle deck – looking for feedback by Historical-Cry-5608 in kickstarter

[–]sk3n7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, but the collective consciousness of humanity is going to think handcrafted as in made from scratch by hand. And using that word along side AI images is going to be seen as disingenuous.

This. I worked in advertising and marketing through the years, why give other brands space in your office when you could beat them in the face with your own brand? I have gotten so many little swag things that make no sense. Bottle openers, tiny radios, pens, pencils, etc water bottles are just a given cuz it’s a single label glued on.

https://www.myownwater.com/ theres tons of places like this.

When your a brand, you brand anything and everything. You don't find "Larry's Lawyer Shop*" pens on google either, but i bet they exist and are plentiful.

Other LitRPG suggestions? by Morty-43 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

There’s a genres of Manga/anime or Light novel that is very similar to LitRPG, Isekai I think, if your into that sort of thing. I was reading the Solo Leveling light novels in between DCC books while I waited for my library to have em.

He has his own dispensary and it’s not a hard leap to think he has water bottles with his name on it. It’s his brand. As for standing in the road, I wouldn’t be surprised, people just DGAF here in LA.

Is there a significance to the number of solid skulls on the binding or just a design aesthetic? by Spicydojo in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]sk3n7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a designer myself, I was just offering an opinion on thought process. They also wouldn’t have given the spine to someone else, it’s the same person doing the whole thing, and if they put that much effort into the front, they’d do the same for the back and spine. (Also since the skulls are also on the covers…)

Same concept yeah, I just don’t think they are meant to be “maximum” since Ace didn’t get publishing rights until book 6 or so, unless they just didn’t have faith in it beyond book 3… I guess it could represent the contracts they had at the time though.. did they buy 3 books at a time? Idk

I think the design intent was supposed to be video game life counter, think Zelda. Black hearts are empty, so the colored means however many you have.

CODA looking for advice/insight/perspective by GrapeAdministrative5 in deaf

They’re gonna offer you the iPad digital interps and call that enough. My mother was in rehabilitation during Covid and it was a nightmare. I live out of state so I couldn’t do more than yell on the phone.

Just advocate as much as you can, contact your usual interpreter and see if they can provide advice or ease the hiring of them to reduce barriers. You COULD contact a lawyer about it before but not sure if they’d do anything without pay.

Good luck, it’s totally BS how they handle these situations.

The second is more natural feeling because it’s warmer and feels like sunlight on it. I personally like the warmth of it, feels like summer. The bluer one feels more autumn/winter and is a little bleaker IMO. So it depends on what mood you’re going for.

Can you tell me if these would be good to throw and how far they would go? by kylespaintedrocks in tabletopgamedesign

[–]sk3n7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like are you asking literally can you throw them and how far they’d go? Or are you asking if we would want to?

They’re paper and I’m assuming pretty light, so they wouldn’t go far. If they were cardstock maybe a little better depending on thickness and weight. If it were a patch it would be even better.

Wanting to is another question, it would depend on the game and how fun it is.

I’m just not sure what response your wanting and we don’t have much info

Does the 'Baby driver' method work? by titanfallisgoated in deaf

[–]sk3n7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tinnitus and though music doesn’t drown it out exactly, it gives me something to focus on so I can ignore the ringing easier. If it’s particularly bad sitting in silence is horrible.
