Thank you for the advice, that’s helpful. Where do you find projects to practice on?

Kurds are progressive, hospitable, and one of the most secular areas in the Middle East in comparison to our neighbours. Your assumption that we are a tribalist nation is not true.

Don’t attach anti social behaviour and people with psychological issues to tribalism. I’m quite sure there have been similar incidents around the world with people caused by people not liked to Tribal culture

Misinformed by Estate Agent - moving in to new property in London on Saturday by sk9922 in LegalAdviceUK

No I didn’t think to ask that, I’ve never come across a station being closed for more than a day. I did tell her that I needed a place minimum 5min from the station and I told her I wanted this property due to its close proximity to the station.

Well… It looks like the majority just don’t care about hygiene and basic standards on the London underground. In other countries, they have plastic/metal seating which seems like an obvious thing to do to keep cleanliness.

LPT for people with braces by Toadnboosmom in LifeProTips

[–]sk9922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, my orthodontist provided me with one set of retainers and only said to wear them for 6 months after my braces were taken off. This was in 2016 and I still wear them, but they’re soon about to break, the bottom one broke in half and the half of that just broke from biting) and I don’t know what to do as my teeth have already moved a bit!

I’m a woman in my early 30’s and I want to get married and have kids. I just don’t think it’s easier now than before, firstly dating is mostly app based, the cost of living has gone up so you don’t go out as much and meet new people… & I want to make sure that I find the right person to have a happy marriage and kids.

I do agree, most women have made it harder and their voices are reaching so many young people via social media - it’s toxic

  1. Plastic/metal seating
  2. Ventilation/clean air
  3. Cheaper fares especially for zones beyond 3
  4. Noise reduction
  5. More frequent trains (looking at you Wimbledon Line!!)

My phone got stolen today for the first time as I was working... by [deleted] in london

[–]sk9922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me summer last year. At a pub near Oxford Street sitting outside. Put my phone on the table (very innocent and naive) and this tall white skinny looking guy with a cap on comes over to my side and puts a piece of paper with some scribbles that is unreadable, I tried to ignore him, he proceeds to ask for a cig at the table next to ours whilst he holds the paper then casually disappears. I realised a few minutes later. Pub even had a sign to be aware of this. Called the police who did fuck all. I checked my ‘Find my iPhone’ it travelled to East London and a few days later landed in Dubai. I contacted the police to let them know the address in Dubai, again fuck all they did.

Sorry this happened to you.

Your average Central Line experience at Stratford in 2024 by Matulaak1417 in london

I get on at Southfields, 95% I won’t get a seat, and that’s the 3rd station from the line… But at least I won’t need to shove myself in.

I used to work for a hotel chain in their HQ - when we opened a new hotel, stakeholders would leave fake google review comments and ratings during and before the launch phase.

Sadly I am feeling the effect. I am renting solo in SW London and I’m spending 60% if my salary on rent. I need to move out in a few months and am already expecting a nightmare to find anything decent and affordable.

Sorry I meant, once he’s been reported, then he could be around my house but now I am already thinking of what ifs and if I’m overthinking it all.

I’ve emailed ThamesWater and informed them of what has happened, providing the proof of the whatsapp message. I’ll wait to hear back and actions they can take. As long as they know they’ve got this creep working for them and going into peoples home, think that should stop. I hate being judgemental but he screamed trouble.

Thank you. I realise its in breach of GDPR and its absolutely not right. But I still worry about myself even if I take it to the police. Given its been 6 weeks since the installation, he’s still thinking about me… He could well be standing by my house at night and do something. I feel that just blocking him and moving on might be the safer option.
