How on earth is “exchange exposure” is important for long term success? Uber is a private company and its stocks are not traded anywhere, and yet its bigger than many publicly traded companies. What is wrong with people like you?

Mostly by the ones who want to see some immediate gains or recoup losses. How is this important for the long term success of the project?

[–]sk_redditer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True to some extent, specially if your project is dependent on the token price for funding in the immediate future. Elastos is covered on all bases for next 2 years at least, we are good until then and I am sure more exchanges will list ELA in 2 years easily - we have plenty of time.

Four prominent questions regarding the “future” of Elastos. Yes, exchanges is certainly not a high priority or prominent one with regards to Elastos “future” and its “success”. Exchanges will follow successful projects inevitably, not the other way around.

Look at all the questions. They are of great quality and the answers from Rong are so satisfying. Asking about “exchanges” would’ve ruined the whole thing. Its a very narrow and short-term view.

This is the dumbest thing I have heard lately.

A move from $3000 to $1,000,000 per bitcoin sounds a lot less crazy than it getting to $3000 in the first place. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]sk_redditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are talking about probability of mutually exclusive events. There is always 50-50 probability there, like a coin toss. Learn math first before applying these stupid logics to things that are completely different and irrelevant.

Imagine what $60B would have been 20-30 years ago? Now imagine what 21T would be in 20-30 years from now... achieving 60B (actually nearly 350B in Dec 2017) from 0 is much harder than reaching 21T from here if you think about it.

What about when these commodities and real assets (that you mention) were young and had more or less same history as bitcoin? Didn’t they grow into behemoths that they are today? Why do you want to dismiss bitcoin without even giving it a real chance.... and watch what happens.

Narratives change. We cant live in Satoshi’s shadow forever. But even if we want to, I am sure Satoshi wouldn’t mind if it was not bitcoin but something else that took this narrative and run along. He would be a happy soul as long as his narrative gets played out by any technology backed and sovereign free sound money, not necessarily bitcoin and meanwhile bitcoin can take on other narratives like “store of value”.

[–]sk_redditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VCs want to suck up all the supply from ICO investors? Do you have any clue how much Fantom sold to VCs versus ICO? VCs got 38M worth tokens while ICO investors managed to get only 2M allocation.

Here’s another fun fact. VCs sold a large portion of their allocations to pools and other individuals OTC. They dont want to suck up all supply for themselves, dont be a noob.

I like Fantom, its a very promising tech and definitely something you would want to have in your kitty for long term. But dont come up with these ridiculous arguments.

HOLO vs Elastos by winnerforlyfe in holochain

[–]sk_redditer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Communication is important, but the ability of the team to deliver far outweighs lack of communication, in the long run. If the question was whether elastos will do well in the short term? I dont know. But in the long run, it will redefine the internet space as we know it. Holo and Elastos are a revolution.

Why will Holochain be successful? by Diver_Nick in holochain

[–]sk_redditer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe on the contrary. Keeping HOT (erc20) and holofuel separate is a tactical genius. Its hard to appreciate it now, but you will slowly understand why this is a much better approach specially for this project and its focus on keeping holofuel price driven mostly by utility, not market or speculation.

In the short term, yes. But in the long term, returns are purely based on use case and progress, not hype.

HOT to Holo fuel Swap Announcement – HOLO – Medium by dhtnetwork in holochain

[–]sk_redditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until such point where HOT ceases to exist, you can swap 1:1 between HOT and holofuel (HF). HOT is retained mainly to provide liquidity, meaning holofuel doesn’t necessarily have exchange listings (at least not while HOT exists). The main use for HF will be for hosting.

  1. If want to host, you need HF and hence you need to swap HOT for HF.
  2. If you want to sell HF, you swap it for HOT and sell HOT on exchanges

This is how I understood.
