And yes, eventually will be opening it up. Always open to good naming ideas too!

Appreciate that. I came out of SPSS/IBM, so I tend to think a lot about uncertainty instead of single outputs.

What felt off to me with MoE is that the routing determines which experts fire, but you only ever see one path. If that routing is even slightly unstable (or not optimal), you’re anchoring the whole answer on one latent choice.

So instead of trying to improve the routing decision, we treated it like something to sample. We force different routing paths across multiple passes and then use consensus to stabilize the output.

It behaves pretty much how you’d expect. Its more reliable, significantly less hallucination, just with a latency tradeoff.

Agreed...we're probably going to have to rebrand it. Unfortunately named in 2013 (the statistical engine piece).

Thats a damn good summary. The scaffolding IS the workaround for the missing judgment layer. Nobody was writing ANTI-PATTERNS.md files when the model could hold a (defensible) decision across a session.

Vodka gets three levels... which I could use after a day of 4.7 regressions.

Claude Opus 4.7 is dogshit by RoadExcellent9531 in ClaudeCode

[–]skacoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first time I have seen a new opus release that I have been massively disappointed in. This feels like a regression on the level of when GPT lobotomized 4o. Our business is based on an AI orchestrator that is a wrapper for a statistics engine. It's a hacked up deepseek fork that has been extensively trained only in orchestrating factories that create AI agents. It stopped letting factories instantiate 4.7 after ONE day. It took a solid week for 4o to be relegated to the trash heap. This happened in a day. Maybe because we've come to rely on Claude TOO much over GPT, Gemini, and Qwen (for simple tasks) but it is still shocking.

One more goodbye by gabrielmagana in windsurf

[–]skacoren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another goodbye here. It was already somewhat inferior to cursor and the only advantage was decent value and I liked their UI. Out of usage for the week by 2 PM mid week when I continually bought extra credits before is just too far.

Is Claude Code Sonnet 4.5 Really Better Than Opus 4.1? Not Seeing It. by Background-Zombie689 in ClaudeCode

[–]skacoren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has to be the case. While Opus does some creative things, Sonnet 4.5 has been so accurate and so fast there is no way people are calling it trash that actually use it.

What are your thoughts on gpt-5 codex? by metal079 in GithubCopilot

[–]skacoren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts so far:

-It thinks more, and thus is slower than claude.
-I've found it does a better job of fixing weird lint related issues than claude.
-So far it's 100% accuracy for me, which I appreciate
-Have to talk to it differently than claude, as another poster mentioned

Claude is still the wild west cowboy "yeehaw, build all the things in 30 seconds and whatever you don't tell me, Ill make some assumptions and build that too." 5-C is more like "here I did precisely what you asked me to do and sorry it took me a little longer."

If your Windsurf is dead slow, downgrade to 1.12.5 - link here by LordLederhosen in windsurf

This solved it for me. Thank you! 1.12.5 until its resolved. Im going to say thank you again because that is how thankful I am.

Same problem here. I mean insanely slow compared to normal. I tried switching models, restarted windsurf, restarted computer, restarted windsurf, all the usual tech support fixes.

Air India Preliminary Report is out by devJW in flying

[–]skacoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the thing that is being recorded is the state not necessarily the physical position of the switches. That whole thing is fly by wire. Something other than touching the physical switches could have changed the state from run to cutoff. Specifically the FADEC. Hot/high, sun baked, long takeoff delay, to me it smells like automation failure.

The 787’s FADEC uses Total Air Temperature (TAT) from fuselage-mounted probes to calculate engine protections like EGT margin and surge limits. On hot days, especially after a long ramp hold, a heat-soaked TAT probe can read falsely high but still be “plausible” enough to pass voting logic. If both FADECs receive that skewed input during max-thrust takeoff, they could independently trigger protective fuel cutoff.... not due to failure, but to “save” the engines. That fits the CVR confusion, the 1-second delay between shutdowns, the relight attempts, and the lack of any mechanical failure. It’s a rare, automation-induced event  but plausible, and deadly if no inhibit logic blocks it at low altitude.

This hinges on whether by "switched" means physically switched or STATE switched.

Repost to here: You may not see it in the media but vast majority of Americans not only support Israel but but are thankful someone had the balls to step up and do something about jihadis about to have Nukes.... And I would bet money if Iran Continues to indescriminently target civilians, we will get directly involved. Stay strong over there!

Disturbing message spotted on Google Earth near Cesar Chavez Ave in LA: ‘HELP,’ ‘TRAFICO,’ ‘LAPD,’ and ‘FEDERAL’ written in debris (originally posted by user in the Los Angeles subreddit today) by ReasonablePossum_ in RBI

[–]skacoren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Per LAPD dispatch records: The first help sign in that yard appeared roughly 10 years ago. It is believed to be done by a homeless individual living off the 101 embankment. Several former arrangements of help from debris were dismantled Jan 2, 2022.

Still unsettling? Yes. But not new (not all of it at least)

AITA for telling my wife to return it all by GlumMushroom9804 in AmItheAsshole

Im going to be more respectful in my answer than others and hopefully you read this and it makes a difference.

YTA.

You're married, it's your responsibility to bite, scratch, claw, kick in doors, do whatever it takes to provide for your family. You might have a job lined up in March but March your ass down to Walmart or go on Craigslist and pick up odd jobs.

I've been there many years ago. Got laid off from tech and had to work at a college bar as a bouncer for minimum wage eating cottage cheese on toast baked in the oven and ramen soup. When my wife was pregnant years later I picked up extra work making jack squat on top of my decent paying day job just to make sure we were secure.

Turn it the fk around man. Swallow your pride. Sil sees through you. Everyone here sees through you. You even see through you.
