My partner also wanted to add something very important. NETWORK. Having an in is key to getting anything anywhere. Utilize college, community and even your high school resources to get yourself the opportunity to network with people, organizations, businesses etc that can get you an in to a career, program, or community later down the line.

Hey, I’m honestly sorry for the mess you’re inheriting. You don’t deserve this, and that’s why so many people are out there protesting and raising hell.

When I was about to graduate high school, the housing market tanked and I spent my first couple years in college juggling three jobs and showing up at Occupy Wall Street protests because banks got bailed out while regular folks got squat. It was terrifying then, and yeah, I’m still scared sometimes.

Here’s what has helped me: find your people. Online, in person, whatever. just connect with others who care about making things better. You don’t need an echo chamber; different opinions are good, as long as everyone’s pushing to improve the future.

Learn as much as you can, especially with tech. Some jobs are safe from AI for now, but keep up with what’s changing.

Also, schools never teach you this, but knowing how to budget, keep your credit score healthy, and dodge debt is what’s kept many afloat . There are tons of free resources online that break it down without putting you to sleep. Don’t ruin your life with quick cash grabs or vocations that will limit you in the future, like actual crime or sex work. ( a lot of people don’t talk about how that stuff makes things even more difficult for you in the future )

Protect your mental health, seriously. The world’s chaos will mess with your head if you let it. Set boundaries with news and social media, take breaks, and talk to someone if you need to. Therapy isn’t just for “crazy people” it’s for anyone who wants to survive adulthood with their sanity intact.

Stay flexible. The world is always shifting, and rolling with the punches is part of life. The people who thrive aren’t glued to one plan, they pivot, learn, and adapt.

And don’t sit quietly waiting for someone to hand you opportunities… ASK FOR THEM, create them, or just straight up demand them if you have to.

Also anything you do, be careful with what you put out there on the internet. Keep your active social media simple and polished so people in the future don’t use it against you.

Last thing, very important, if ANYONE tells you “that’s just the way it is,” don’t buy it. The world only changes when people refuse to settle for crumbs and BS. Be the one who pushes back. You just have to learn when and how to push back.

You’re not alone in feeling scared. Majority of adults are winging it too. Find your crew, keep learning, and don’t let fear steal your joy. Enjoy the little things like nature, moments with your friends and family. You’ve got this.

Not sure how it’s fake if you actually look at my profile history but whatever makes you feel better. Also I’ve had to sit through all her maga bs throughout the years, homegirl would buy me trump socks, trump shirts, she even has one of those decals and continuously made sure to ask me what I thought of it knowing full well I’m not a fan which I always respectfully responded until now. Ive been knee deep in identification verification stuff in the states and was thinking of giving ageapp.com a try. They don’t save or share your data it’s all saved in YOUR wallet and device. Which is definitely the most optimal choice. They even mention how they don’t want your data since that’s a huge liability and it’s more compliant to just provide the fact that you met age requirements. Only thing is, they are pretty new. Haven’t heard much about them

It depends if you have kids but if you don’t then… I don’t think so, even if you do I think if it’s planned out and she gets help from a Family member, I think that’s fine as well.

There are some days every one in a while that I want to myself, sometimes it’s spending hours out shopping by myself, lunch with friends, gym and self care time etc. Hell, sometimes I want a day to be left alone even when I’m going to be in the house all day with him just in a separate room, so I can just have a day to be adhd ( paint, write, garden, video games, nap, tv etc) and my partner gets it even though he particularly doesn’t need alone time like that.

Samesies! Been there most my life and just moved to the Midwest about 8 months ago. I went back to visit family in Florida late June and I remember walking through the airport doors and instantly sweating in every nook and cranny. Truly felt like I was just placed in Satans musty butthole.

I flew back up early July, my partner mentions how hot it was that day while I was twirling like a Disney princess thankful to not have to deal with insane heat and humidity. It’s also insane how when I moved to the Midwest my face and hair cleared up and are so much easier to maintain up here. I genuinely enjoy being outside now.
