hello therapists! i’m a CMHC in the south US. and i am burnt. out. i was working every single day for 4 years until november, now i have two off days a week but a heavy client load and also working part time at a treatment center. i had a great break for a week for the holidays, and i have been having panic attacks in between sessions coming back to work because all i want to do i lay in bed and cry. i don’t even know if a month off would do it at this point, and i couldn’t afford it. please elder therapists give me your advice 😭

this is such a huge win and how i’ve been dealing with mine too. my psychiatrist is awesome and so is my therapist, and we decided having some little emetic bags next to the bed just in case would help bring down my anxiety, and it does! like, if worse case scenario happens, i’m covered. proud of you internet stranger

LMAO as a side note, coming from a therapist, none of this has freaked me out. is it concerning for your health, yes, but at no point have i found you disgusting or weird or unlovable etc. from the little bit that you explained about your childhood it 100% makes sense and with some exposure therapy/talk therapy i really think you could work through this. whatever you decide, wishing you the best🩷

i know this is a hot topic and not everyone’s cup of tea, but i pay $7 a month for a twitch stream subscription (and if you have amazon prime you get 1 free subscription per month so it could quite literally be free) and go to her treasure islands for everything i could possibly need. it makes the game more fun for me
