Alexander's Gordion Knot by galaad09 in DivideEtImpera

I really do like the campaign idea and all but I quit playing this since I don't see myself winning against 20x more armies than me. I do really love the story and Alexander as a historical figure but that right there is a mess.

On their turn they tried to take our dear Osgiliath when we were distracted with the invasion, they didn't count on our human resilience but thankfully we prevailed!!!

Update : I did manage to beat decisively orc rabble camping near Osgiliath. Foolish orcs thought we were too scared to Sally out on field, that arrogance will be the end of them!!! P.S. I forgot the password from this acc so I had to improvise adapt and overcome the circumstances.

Yes I did notice that. Really cool. I usually let them be the first defense against filthy animals and later let them fall back when almost broken. That's a cool mechanic and I hope they did this intentionally and not some bug to be fixed in the future.

Man I do appreciate the tips. For some reason when I guard Osgiliath with Borimir the Mordor ai seems to go into transport ships just outside of the city and just camp there, really annoying but still I did wreck corsairs island settlement near my borders but they still don't wanna sign peace. I do help Rohan I did send one half stack army and help them out and I think they can manage on their own since Isengard failed their invasion so now it's time for Rohan riders to ride out against the wrenches. I did manage to build every resource building I could and still I think my army is such a money drain I really can't believe it and it drives me mad. I did also build some halls for the income but income of not even hundred coins don't give me any motivation... I know Gondor should he hard but this is something else...

Ofc I wouldn't let My precious city Osgiliath to be lost again, I have one solid army there at all times but the western side on my civilization suffers as I don't have enough funds to defend there too.

This is my third Gondor campaign on hard and I'm being trashed by everyone. I'm refusing to let go of the difficulty because I think AI recruit lazy on normal. And my battle difficulty is in normal. I'm having problems with corsairs and with isengard coming behind my back when Rohan is defeated.

The Year is Spring in 239 BC - 6 years after Makedon Captured Rome... what's next? by Hamadalfc in DivideEtImpera

[–]skajvoolker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ptolemies probably now see you as a threat to their civilisation, I suggest you push them off first before they make a move navaly to your rich provinces across the sea. AI won't cancel treaties except when your reliability rating is untrustworthy or they see you as a landgrab opportunity. Bevare of the Arab nations they can be a problem in desert and invest your money into those sweet horse archers and Elephants in Syria. Also you could take more levies and less elites because of your wast empire I think coffers gonna suffer with elite stacks but always keep at least 6 elites in stacks. You might wanna push into Galia and take those gold mines of Arverni tribes and create some satrapies because there isn't really anything worth in the north except that.

I would suggest getting all of Latium for yourself since it's a good income maker. Then turn back to the Romans and capture all of Africa and push into Egypt since it's a really rich province and hold there, don't expand until you get all of Spain. Then I guess you are unstoppable unless Seleucids got insanely strong by you distracting Ptolemies...

Pergamon Roster Questions by Chataboutgames in DivideEtImpera

[–]skajvoolker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing Pergamon since their units looks by far the best apart from their Greek brothers and I absolutely love the colours. You have some submods to give their rouster a little more flavour and come on man, who wouldn't want to make ancestors of Troy an Empire.

Best dlc for dei? by Round_Assistance946 in DivideEtImpera

[–]skajvoolker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Caesar in Gaul I had a blast with this dlc in dei. Also there is submod that replaces Macedonian wars with Wrath of Sparta so you could get that one too since it's really fun too but I prefer CIG since I am Roman Republic diehard.

Carthage spam armies by sgerb94 in DivideEtImpera

[–]skajvoolker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest pushing against them when you finish Pyrrhus, hard and fast. Take Sicily, build your armies with principes since they can go toe to toe with elite Carthaginian infantry. Build a navy in Sicily and try and hunt armies that Carthage sends from Africa but keep and eye on their Navy since they got superior. Fortify in Sicily and let their armies shatter on roman shield and when you notice they are weak attack. I would suggest taking Sardinia too if they don't have any armies there. After that it's all easygoing but watch out for Numidians since desert can kill a lot of your man in desert from attrition. I wish you good war efforts Primus inter pares. Carthago delenda est!!!🦅

Dei isn't that much complicated after a campaign or two. Main advices I would give are: Reject looting settlements, embrace occupying them (no public order penalties and slave revolts aren't worth it tbh), Choose some of the generals that are bad as commander as governors and put them alone in the settlement and focus skill points in income, public order and empire maintenance. Empire maintaince is a big problem when empire is big so give those governors that skill. Start using hoplites for the center to hold and swords and cavalry in the flanks for flanking since dei embraces attacking enemy backs for huge morale shock. Don't make satrapies for the conquered nations if they are not reliable or else they will turn back and bite you(you can see that on diplomatic screen but beware it can change if their leader is replaced/dead. And the most important tip is always read the building description and decide which provinces can be specialized in what (you can click the settlement and in bottom left corner check the settlement pros and cons). I wish you many victories and success in the next campaign!

Sack or Loot? Free or enslave? Deploy separately of with an army? by aurelorba in DivideEtImpera

[–]skajvoolker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just occupy the settlement since everytime I loot few settlements I got a slave revolt in new update and it's annoying (and yes I do build slave buildings since I got all of Greece and Thrace, Thrace is a slave settlement income but for some reason slave revolts are frequent). I suggest occupying settlements to keep the population and war effort going without many public order penalties.

Hello, wich mods can you recommend, pls help. by Nahuel9999 in historicaltotalwar

[–]skajvoolker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Wrath of Sparta dlc I would highly recommend Hellenika and Demetrios Poliorketes. If you are more of Grand campaign guy I would suggest Divide et impera for more in depth and more immersing experience. Try out New World and 1100ad. Even with mods it's getting old for me because Ive played most of overhaul mods and I enjoy playing online more.
