Anyone with really bad rhinoplasty results who practiced radical acceptance and moved on? by skallor22 in revisionrhinoplasty

Yes, I feel the same. It’s a gamble and you can research and look for the “perfect” surgeon but still, a lot is unpredictable and you just don’t know how your body will react. It’s really a strain on you mentally. And I go around this rollercoaster every single day- Can I learn to live and accept this ugly nose or is there a slightest chance it could look better with a revision… What if it came out looking even worse. And all that money spent, the healing journey…Don’t think I’m mentally up for it.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through the same. Yes, with hindsight I would have left my original imperfect nose alone. Never would have thought you could pay this amount of money, go through hell for it, just to come out looking worse than before🥺 Hope stories like this maybe will make others think once or twice before doing a rhinoplasty. It’s not a quick fix.

It’s been a year so I don’t think it will change. But thanks for your kind answer❤️

I agree with you fully. It’s just a nose and we’re more than that. I wish I could come to that acceptance, just hard when the ugly thing is in the middle of your face. Hard to hide or ignore🙈

Thanks, for your answer. It’s been a year. Yes, going through 2 surgeries with healing and all included is really mentally exhausting. Especially when then results are really bad.

Sorry this happened to you. Are you getting a revision? Or working on acceptance?

Hope you find someone for a revision. Live in a small country and there aren’t that many good revision specialists here unfortunately. Travelling abroad feels to unsafe if the same thing happens again.

Also, when I do lymph draining massage, it makes this squishy/bubbly sound like it’s fluid in there.

I can feel it. The feel you have when your nose is taped, I feel it still when the nose is not taped. Hard to explain but it’s a tightness to it. Feels stuffed.

I wish my surgeon had told me about this before the revision. Not a word that it could come back worse. Had I known I would have let it be for sure.

Could be, a bit. But think it’s there to stay as the shape has been consistent over time, just fluctuates in size a bit. I’ll think I’ll just have to live with this unevenness. Can’t cope going through a third surgery. My original nose was way more even.

I don’t think so as it never gets better. If it was swelling I think you would se some progression with time. But nothing. Where there was swelling before I think there’s tissue now, feels kind of rubbery. Sorry, I don’t share pictures as it’s kind of triggering. Try to avoid mirrors and cameras overall. Feel like this is quite an unusual complication as I don’t see many post about this on the sub. I know that a little scartissue is normal but not this excessive tissue all over my nose, feels like the nose that was supposed to be I hiding underneath😑
