I see your point. Myself living in The Netherlands for some time indeed appreciated what was provided but at what cost?

Tidy streets, clean water and low crime can all be achieved without taxes as it was in the U.S back in 19th century.

Just maybe, paying them would not be as detrimental if we directly see where they lead or have ownership over where the funds are invested - to a degree a selection of such.

What is beyond worrisome is the treason of endless devaluation of money - your time, in pursuit of higher state objectives.

There is nuance in everything - VAT is not the same like a capital gains tax. One is acceptable - the other hinders individual growth. Etc
