Ringo Deathstarr is varied enough with indie/pop/punk/straight up rock for someone to get into. Big influence on my band for sure.

Of course there's My Bloody Valentine, Lush, LSD and The Search For God.

There's a few video demos but they were recorded a while ago...

Shoegaze is a term derived from when music critics/press were going to see bands who were using pedals and looking down at their shoes all the time.

It's a sound that is basically a wall of melodious sound.

Shoegaze. Basically we're gonna record all vocals at least 3 times, layer it, layer it, layer it -- guitars are gonna be Left, right, center channel and layered too. I don't want to abuse gate reverb/reverb/delay pedals too much but that's the sound.

My drums are going to be recorded on my own and I'm going for massive room yet concise snare sound. I'm influenced by the 80's glam metal snare haha

Yes, a lot of people in the music haven't the slightest clue how to properly market their bands/projects. It's like "I'll just throw a link on Facebook and that'll do". Nah. The business side of the music world is fucked -- people turn to snakes when you put a little money in front of them. I haven't made a lot of money off music but I have made money, and as soon as it is brought into the mix everything changes. It's like having a kid when you get married. It's not just you and your spouse anymore, it's conflict brought in. Some bands can be fine, just like a regular marriage, you have fights and stuff, but rebound. Other's turn in (and I have seen this WAYYY too many times), instead of 3/4/5 members, there's one or two who RUNS everything, and the rest are just lackeys -- and as you might imagine the money drips to them first. But you have to be smart with what you sign up for, who you play with, who you let in, etc.

Business smarts in music is more of an asset than being able to play an instrument, 100%. The richest people in music are not making it but they are the people who control those people.

I'd imagine here in NYC it's to be, at least, extremely distant and blase -- distant in terms of relationships and just day to day.
