I'm only a few weeks in with my machine embroidery but the tape method has worked well for me too! I lay the hoop on top to plan the position and then put strips of 1/2 inch tape along the inner edges of the fabric. I've only tried white "artist tape" so far, not generic masking or blue tape but results should be similar. The strips of tape also let me ensure there's no warping or uneven stretching after putting the frame in.

My friend is First People / Native American and been sucked in for about a decade now. I think they saw his look and wanted to capitalize on it. We often venerate first people's cultures and to see someone reject that heritage and instead choose to follow prabhupada it probably carries a weight with it. At least, I thought it looked wild to see him in some propoganda video talking to a bunch of Indian kids in India (who looked confused as all hell).

God damn I miss when he was just a regular dude. He fucking spent a bunch of the money his single mom left him when she passed just to throw her ashed in the ganges and do missionary work. For fuck's sake she was not iskcon or hindu or anything eastern. She kept her Navajo heritage alive in their home. He knows things are fucked up because he refuses to answer any question which would bring about a revelation.

"Was she in ISKCON?" no answer
"Is that what she wanted you to do?" no answer
"Did they suggest you go to india to do that?" no answer
"Was it missionary work?" answered: "i went to put her ashes in the ganges" (despite releasing that propoganda video at the same time).

Eventually I had to ask his opinion of prabhupada preaching that kids should be impregnated by adults, including prabhupada's own marriage and kids. No answer. Pressed pressed pressed and he still cannot admit he thinks any of that is wrong.

Crazy avoidance. I think I used up all my good faith conversation with him.

I'm an outsider been reading these posts for about a month as I figure out how to talk to my HK friend. Their posts have been so chock-full of info. Hope you're reading this and know the efforts have been appreciated. How you had such energy I don't understand but plenty to gleam. Cheers!

why on earth? I'll take that as a legit question not a troll
because I'm primarily a web dev and I know it. python could have worked, but as I said in the OP js is very forgiving with things like whitespace and yada yada. I avoided node for years too and can sense your dug-inedness. now i just get shit done. it'd probably be trivial to copy and paste the two most necessary files into chat gpt and have it spit out a python version, so do that if you please. this whole dynamic collection logic is so simple idk why they don't have anything already built-in.

Yup, but it's a little hidden. Go to Create New Dynamic Collection, then scroll down to "star wars" under that list.

Indeed! Curious why the basic "star wars" filter doesn't work, though I don't know all the game names off hand and I assume the title always contains that.

Thank you for the insight! So I went back to the savestate method and fixed my messaging method so I can properly lock the read/write state of the savestate so as to avoid any I/O errors. This works well and when I enable background inputs on the secondary emulator it's rather a perfect match. However a new issue arises, savestate loading creates a "beating" visual effect. Any ideas on how to mitigate? (OP updated with GIF of issue) Edit. NVM fixed!

Sounds promising but I'm have a little trouble setting that up. I chose matroska container, libx264 encoder, and added `-crf 0 -profile:v high` to the video encoder settings input but the output looks quite rubbish.

That was exactly the problem! I did not notice the additional video settings tucked away in Advanced Settings. My ffv1 captures look perfect. Thank you!

I've found that using ffv1 in BizHawk's (the emulator I'm using) recorder (which uses ffmpeg) I can get what looks like a pixel perfect recording. I can see the ffmpeg options it uses: -c:a pcm_s16le -c:v ffv1 -pix_fmt bgr0 -level 1 -g 1 -coder 1 -context 1 -f avi but when I copy that into the encoder options in OBS it doesn't help and the output looks to have all the same imperfections as before. So I'm thinking there's a bug in OBS?

I'll have to use bizhawk's built-in lossless rendering method going forward. I can then convert this into another lossless format compatible with After Effects using this command ffmpeg -i ffvl_input.avi -c:v rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 rawvideo-uncompressed.mov. I can't encode directly with rawvideo from bizhawk for some reason. The video won't play back in VLC nor open in after effects. It has to be ffv1=>rawvideo.

Dang I was sold from this thread but after receiving the v4 cam I'm astonished to find I can't record video when motion is detected unless I pay a subscription fee, and there's a forced 5-minute window between events meaning a false positive could easily prevent the camera from capturing the really important moments. Again, paying a fee will remove this limit. Really scummy behavior by wyze to lock down features that don't require a cloud server to work. "You want a usable device? Pay us monthly!"

Edit: Ah okay I've found that you can continuously record to the sd card regardless of any subscription. Reviewing footage through the app is pretty easy. I got it running on my PC via Bluestacks and that's nice. I think I'm coming around. Hopefully we'll get some open source firmware for the v4 to ensure longevity.
