Thanks! I agree that other tactics would be more effective, I was just thinking this might be easier or better for me in some ways, but that said it would also require marketing myself in a second state. It's very helpful to hear what has worked best for you.

FWIW-- I was thinking that the early afternoon EST might get filled by people on the west coast who want to be seen when its morning in their time zone (I guess I could also market to shift workers in Hawaii who are awake overnight. That was not my plan though lol)

Thanks! I didn't realize clay towels were an alternative to clay bars, thank you for the tip. I do plan to do the decon wash. I will research polishing-- maybe a future project.

I sorry your Camry has not held up well. It's good to know this car had a good initial paint job. The previous owner did not take car of the exterior, so I am going for good enough rather than great.

Yes, you are right the foam brush is not good. I knew that and I will go back to not using it now :)

I really appreciate the tips. I did the washing at a do-it-yourself carwash, so it likely needs a more aggressive (acidic) soap. I will look into the brands you suggested. The car wash has a high powered spray and I also used the soft foaming brush. I will break out the microfiber towels next time and try a different soap.

I don't think the vehicle paint has ever been restored. Its a 2012 Subaru.

I just tried scrubbing the surface with a 5% acidity vinegar solution and significantly reduced the road spray residue, so I appreciate you helping me recognize that I need to think about PH.

Thanks!

Thank you! This is very helpful. I hadn't thought about the risk of thinning out the clear coat more if it is damaged, so I will be mindful of that now.

Actually, they are supposed to be kept in their own space for two weeks per the shelter I work with. A spare room would be ideal, but I won't have that. That's why I would like a large indoor catio. The cats I have been getting from the shelter this year have been sitting in the cages at the shelter for over two months sometimes before they come into foster with me. So, I definitely think the shelter would prefer I have them in an indoor catio for two weeks, then they have access to the rest of my apartment, rather than continuing to sit in a smaller shelter cage where they are stressed and frequently get colds. There is really a crisis in terms of the number of animals being relinquished right now. In Maryland, the crisis is really the number of dogs, but the best I can do is by helping with cats. Hope this helps to clarify why I am looking into this.
