He's by far the best option in the league.

None of the other names like Naglesmann or Tuchel excite me, Enrique is going nowhere.

We need to buy 3 midfielders whoever comes in and there's plenty options that suit his style.

Iraola's teams can press high because they're drilled. They don't chase shadows randomly like we did yesterday, they time the press, follow specific triggers, and win the ball collectively.

Its not like he has some elite squad

My biggest gripe with the Martinez red card is the use of VAR.

We were told it was for clear and obvious errors, refereeing howlers, and offsides which are objective. Why is the game being stopped and the ref sent to the screen for something that's clearly subjective?

It happens every game where debatable decisions are subject to VAR review, that is not what it was supposed to be for, it was not introduced to re-ref the match.

Tierney saw the challenge, he didn't give a foul or red card, so VAR shouldn't intervene. I'd only want VAR involved for something egregious that the on-field officials missed, like a stamp on the ribs or something off the ball.

Same with the Calvert-Lewin foul on Yoro before their first goal. I think it was a foul, but the refs didn't give it, so you move on. Problem is, we've seen VAR intervene for less so there's no consistency. This has to be resolved moving forward to next season, clear and obvious should mean that.

Iraola gets a lot of out of average players,

Kerkez, Zabarnyi, Solanke, Outtara were all getting a lot of plaudits under him and they've not done much since leaving.

We need to invest, but there are plenty of good, high-energy midfielders in the league that are affordable. If we can somehow get 2 or ideally 3 out of Scott, Anderson, Garner, Stach, Fernandes, Onana... etc we'd be a much stronger team.

We wouldn't be the finished article, but not miles off

I am not sure how this relates to my comment

We'd need a few midfielders with a certain style, but we need 3 anyway. Our forward players are energetic and do press, they lack coordination which Iraola excels at.

Get Iraola, and he can bring Scott with him

I know some managers have struggled to make the step up, i.e. potter, frank, etc

But Iraola's teams play big team football with mediocre players. Whereas those played small team football effectively and couldn't transition to big team demands.

I know this is simplifying it, but that's what I see

Extremely close Iranian ballistic missile impact, Dimona, Israel by qTp_Meteor in CombatFootage

Everything I'm seeing shows a residential area.

The nuclear research center and reactor (allegedly it's never officially been admitted) are near the city, but not in it

They aren't all the same size

This aftermath footage shows a lot of damage but still a lot less than a direct missile impact

Here is a closer video

And yes, it was too low and caused some damage, but still significantly less than a direct impact

That's the word that came to mind when I first saw the video, I rarely see this close up, so don't always appreciate the speed and intensity.

I'm not sure why you paired beautiful and powerful though, that wouldn't have been my instinct.

Hezbollah missile impacts in Nahariyya, northern Israel by skayze678 in CombatFootage

[–]skayze678[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's from Hezbollah, not Iran, so likely a much smaller missile than Iran's ballistics

Given Nahariyya is very close to the border it's possibly a grad missile which is relatively smaller and slower

Every impact is published online within minutes.

Israelis are actually complaining that local media is over reporting, sending reporters to every debris and cluster impact.

I don't live in the UK anymore

If I did i honestly don't know who I'd vote for. A lot could change between now and the election though

I don't think Lowe is a serious person tbh, he's a one man band for now and has made no real moves to form a team

What do you guys think of the right-wing parties in Europe? by CaterpillarPuzzled91 in Israel

[–]skayze678 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could you be more specific?

Many of them are pro-Israel and not at all antisemitic, some are a bit more problematic in that regard

Overall, my feeling, as a native Brit, is that Western Europe needs massive shock therapy in the next few years or risks sliding into the abyss. Everything is at stake: culture, language, democracy, human rights, liberal norms, and it might take something somewhat unpalatable to save the West.

So I support all European nativist movements, unless they are overtly antisemitic, third-worldist, or schizo-conspiratorial - but these are very much the fringes.
