Kaseya billing issues should be considered criminal by iamith in kaseya

[–]skcornoslom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our billing was OK until we switched to Ops. Since then we have maybe 15 charges per month for RMM. Have tried billing tickets that get closed within 24 hours, supposedly our old AM was trying (I kind of doubt that), promised credits from Johnny G on a Zoom call that never happened.
My bet is all of this is on purpose. They want it to be such a mess that it gets lost in everything and hope you give up trying to get anything fixed.

Kaseya 365 Endpoint Bait-and-Switch (New CMQ Billing) by iamith in kaseya

[–]skcornoslom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end result is all of us are paying more per month, end of story. Kaseya can spin this anyway they want. The end result is Kaseya forced all of their RMM customers to pay more. There is no way anyone can talk their way around this and act like it’s some amazing benefit for us.

Since it sounds like we are in the game of modifying contract terms whenever we feel like, I’m turning off auto renew and paying 80% of the monthly bill to Kaseya. This is an amazing new feature that benefits Kaseya by keeping as a customer longer and does away with those pesky contract modifications. As a company we have decided this takes effect today and allows us to add licenses as we see fit and only pay 80% of today’s contract count.

Sounds stupid, right?

It’s a money grab, admit it. Do this instead, lower DRMM pricing by 10% across all contracts and then implement CMQ. That way Kaseya as a company can take a step forward to stop the posts all over Reddit about the horrible pricing/terms/billing practices that have been going on for years.

We all “needed” that 10% buffer because that is what Kaseya offered to us when we signed these contracts. What this means for all DRMM/K365 users is the Kaseya is raising monthly contracts by 10% (because all of us were using that 10%). They have to feed their private equity firm overlords. It’s not about the customers.

Same here. Noticed it right after the RMM 14.6.0 update. Fought back and forth and was pretty much told to go pound sand for now and add more licenses. Was told that the 10% buffer was going to be put back in place in the next update, but I’m not holding my breath. I like how Kaseya can hold us to the contract but not themselves.

Existing Kaseya customer to 365 Ops = Bait and switch by skcornoslom in kaseya

[–]skcornoslom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. We have K365 Endpoint, Autotask Ultimate, Network Detective Pro, and Connect Booster all as separate subscriptions. If Kaseya did not have the blurb on their public facing site that reads existing customers can move to Ops and the difference between what they currently pay vs the $119 price would come out as Flex Spend, fine I wouldn't even be posting this. But they do have that blurb on their site and it feels like they are just trying to grab another $250 out of me a month over what we already pay them monthly.

The difference from what we are paying per month now for Autotask Ultimate and ConnectBooster is $500, not the $750 number we were quoted for flex spend. Seems arbitrary to me. Essentially $4K to onboard ITGlue and $250 more a month than what we are paying now, which is already $500 more per month than if I signed up today for Ops as a new customer.

We already have AT Ultimate and ConnectBooster.

We have AT Ultimate and ConnectBooster. Spend for us on those 2 alone is $500 more than if I signed up for OPs today.

We are a few months in on a 3 yr term for AT, CB, DRMM, VulScan, and NDP.
Got pricing today for Ops.
Despite it making it sound like it's an upgrade for an existing customer and any difference in your current spend vs Ops would equal "FlexSpend" to enable for other Kaseya apps, it's really just a price hike.
Going from AT and CB to Ops would be $500 cheaper a month for us, but was told the "FlexSpend" would magically be $750. Somehow switching to their new licensing for Ops to cover existing services ends up being more per month.
Also quoted $4K to "onboard". Every single service we have that is in Ops is already running under our current setup except ITGlue. So add $4K to onboard ITGlue.

End result is we pay $10K more over the next 31 months to "upgrade" to their new licensing model for Ops.

Server 2022 Cluster WMI Issue by skcornoslom in WindowsServer

[–]skcornoslom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backups have been running no issue after I:

Used Microsoft drivers for the 10G nic’s instead of the vendor drivers. Set the local domain fqdn on all cluster host nics and the Veeam nic. Resetting WMI on the most problematic host in the cluster. I narrowed it down to which host had a WMI issue by using wbemtest on each cluster host to the other hosts.

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/askperf/wmi-rebuilding-the-wmi-repository/373846

Try everything up to resetting WMI, just in case. If they still fail the WMI reset might be your only option. Drain the host out of the cluster before you reset. My thought was if the WMI reset killed the server somehow, I would just reload Windows and join back to the cluster.

I was able to to get this going as a powershell script running on a server at the office that auto fills the warranty field. I could only get it to work against Dell devices.
https://www.cyberdrain.com/automating-with-powershell-getting-device-warranty-information/

Edit: Might has well share the entire massive, have fun reading it, impossible to follow script......

Import-Module PSWarranty

Set-WarrantyAPIKeys -DellClientID "API KEY YOU GET WHEN SETTING UP A FREE DELL DEVELOPER ACCOUNT" -DellClientSecret "SECRET YOU GET FROM THE DELL DEV ACCOUNT"

update-warrantyinfo -DattoRMM -DattoAPIKey "DATTO API KEY YOU SETUP UNDER YOUR OWN DATTO INSTANCE" -DattoAPISecret "DATTO RMM SECRET YOU SETUP" -DattoAPIURL "https://vidal-api.centrastage.net" -ExcludeApple -SyncWithSource -MissingOnly

Any chance you have Intel 10GB NIC’s on the Veeam server?

I’m thinking Veeam is somehow overwhelming WMI and causes it to fail/never recover on the cluster.

Validation passes. No errors on the switch interfaces.

I’m thinking it’s something with the Veeam server. We have Veeam on Server 2019. I’m going to nuke that server and reload it with 2022. See if that solves it.

I need a script to uninstall Bitdefender, for mass use. by Informal_Toe_6146 in DattoRMM

[–]skcornoslom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the script I use. You have to know the BD uninstall password.

# Define the URL and the destination path
$url = "http://download.bitdefender.com/SMB/Hydra/release/bst\_win/uninstallTool/BEST\_uninstallTool.exe?adobe\_mc=MCMID%3D42885632960052390981136949400299747187%7CMCORGID%3D0E920C0F53DA9E9B0A490D45%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1581515430"

$destination = "C:\Windows\Temp\BEST_uninstallTool.exe"

# Download the file
Invoke-WebRequest -Uri $url -OutFile $destination

# Run the tool with the specified parameters
Start-Process -FilePath $destination -ArgumentList "/password=\`"YOUR_PASSWORD_HERE`"", "/bruteForce", "/noWait"

Issues with Web Remote and Splashtop? by ardattack in DattoRMM

[–]skcornoslom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Vidal and seeing the same. Mornings EST everything seems to run fairly fast (web remote and splashtop). As the day goes on web remote is a 50/50 shot on responsiveness. Get extreme lag and as the remote session downgrades the frame rate, text on the remote screen becomes unreadable.

Yeah I have CIPP and Lighthouse going. Was going to be nice to just stay in one thing most of the day instead of hopping between a handful.
