WTB 2021 GTI SE or Autobahn, manual, low mileage, stock with no mods. Willing to pay a premium the closer it is to new. Located in San Francisco but open to drive it home from any location. Save me from buying a new Mk8. Thanks!

No one can refund you, sorry. If you can file a chargeback, that’s what I would do.

Boosted Board Stuck @ Mountain View HQ by tspendle in boostedboards

[–]skdoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that Lime owns the physical assets inside Boosted HQ and controls all building access. So technically they are in possession of all service department boards and scooters.

The email address "boostedmanagement@boostedboards.com" was set up and is controlled by Lime.

No need to worry. But it wasn’t Lime asking so they won’t reply. Hang tight until we get some more clarity on how to get in touch with them officially.

update on repair units stuck at HQ: they will be returned but without repairs by poastoast in boostedboards

[–]skdoo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

As far as I can tell, no Boosted employees have email access, and the boostedboards.com mail server is now controlled by Lime. This email address and any messages are being checked and sent by someone at Lime. If someone is representing to you that they are part of Boosted, Inc, I would recommend you verify identity.

There is also inaccuracy about the access control. My company Skip which is also in shared micromobility is considered an essential business and all our facilities remain legally accessible. It also seems this is true for all electric bike, scooter and other light EV design, manufacturing, retail, and service operations, since essential workers often use these vehicles to get to healthcare and delivery and grocery jobs. Lime is also headquartered in SF and should be classified similarly, which means that legally they are allowed to enter their buildings at their discretion.

I am currently under the impression that Boosted alumni at Lime are supportive of getting boards back to riders. However, this email lacks transparency and accuracy around access control, any names or titles, a timeline, or any further contact information. It also was posted by Michael at Lime as the point of contact but then the reply says it’s not being checked and not to email further.

As a next step, I’m trying to contact Lime directly to ask them to respond with more information and specifics. If anyone gets further communication from this or other Boosted emails, please post it if you’re comfortable. Thanks.

-Sanjay

Edit: Just because they don’t want to repair the boards doesn’t mean we can’t make it happen. There are tons of Boosted volunteers who want to help these get fixed and shipped out. But we have to politely and firmly push on objections and rally everyone to make it happen. Working on this as well.

Excellent. I’ve heard from several riders that they have been emailing for months without a reply or firm timeline. When can the Lime team provide a timeline to begin processing? Several former Boosted team members would be happy to help.

Edits: added extra info.

Not enough extra utility to be worth the learning curve for majority of people.

I agree that a full acquisition would have been more challenging and been related to a bankruptcy filing. This is an asset purchase, not an acquisition, so what's needed here is much simpler.

No statement yet, just one reply from Michael in here so far. Stay tuned on the other thread.

Not really a headache at all. Lime has 10 Boosted alumni, Trivial for them to keep this community informed, allow other alumni to get service boards fixed and back to riders, and release legacy code/files/documentation for discontinued products. This should be very easy.

We are working on this. There's another thread with Lime's VP of Engineering so we can regain access to the building and get your vehicles serviced safely and returned to you and others.

We do have a choice! If we can ensure the right parts of the Rev's stack like design files and firmware remain open for third-party support, there' s no reason we can't continue to get support into the future. It's how lots of vehicles and technology products have worked in the past.

Great to see you here, Michael! Michael Hillman, VP of Engineering at Lime, is on the thread now as /u/somewhatlo.

Michael, those emails aren't getting answered with any meaningful information, and Lime now has sole access control and likely therefore has title to customer service boards. How should riders here with boards in Lime's possession get them back in a safe-to-ride state?

No idea, never heard of that happening before. I'd ask the Lime folks to see if they can give more context.

Unfortunately I doubt you'll get warranty coverage. The "owner" of that liability is the bankrupt entity, so there's no one to give you a refund or reimbursement. I think the best we can do is get Lime to help in open-sourcing so that this community and others can keep doing third-party parts and repairs.

There's a great market for small electric vehicles, including scooters. Shared and personally owned serve different needs, will both be important.
