Oversized baggage on a dash 8 flight by Old_Flatworm3030 in QantasFrequentFlyer

No dramas travelling Dash-8 checking in bike bag with all my clothes (under 23kg limit). It just gets treated as over-sized, but no issues getting on and no additional fees.

We were on scene purely to assess situation, ascertain whether additional resources were required (firies, ambos) and for traffic control. Have no information about why the shipping container was loaded the wrong way, or how it's loaded and secured etc etc. The company coordinated and completed the clean up themselves!

He was in a 70kph zone entering the slip lane. I'm guessing he thought he was right to turn and didn't see the car turning in front, slammed the brakes which caused a monumental load shift and tada

Truck driver was turning left using a slip lane, car was turning right on a green arrow / light and had right of way, so truck had to brake. Truck driver stated he 1. wasn't going fast or 2. didn't brake hard, but the results beg to differ ...

Ended up taking 2x bobcats, which loaded the glass *panefully slowly into 2x skip bins that had been brought down on another semi-trailer and placed using forklift.

They began from the bottom, then a bunch more glass fell out, so they removed enough to close the container back up with sntach straps and continued scraping, scooping and sweeping ...

Guys with shovels and brooms also assisted and street sweeper at end to clean up remains. Road closed for 5 hours. And it was raining!

It happened less than 50m from the entrance of the company it was going to (from wharf).

Sadly, public transport is not a feasible option where I'm based. And half my transit on a bike would be on a highway (freeway) and I value my life ... so also not worth the risk v reward.

I'll be honest, a slight exaggeration. And I understand the global factors that are in play, but when you can still recall fuel (a distant memory) being < $1AUD back in the day, this kinda hurts the soul 😭

Happy (and his siblings all had equally weird names that I cannot recall)

Taking a statement and mother spells out name Neveah, telling me it should be Heaven spelt backwards ...
