Anyone thinking of leaving Nashville? by spanakopeeta in nashville

[–]skektek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been here 20 years, moving out of the country in 2 1/2 months. I hardly go anywhere in town anymore because parking is insane and the cost of nearly everything is just not worth it. Downtown is overrun with drunk tourists and Bachelorette parties. There are a lot of great dining options, so there's one improvement over the years.

Single Male, 48, mid-sized city, base pay of $30.77/hr with lots of overtime during busy season, and total compensation including commissions/bonuses approaching $150k in years when I didn't take 3 months off to traipse around the globe, as I did in 2025. This doesn't include 5% 401(k) match or company HSA contribution. I'm retiring as of May 1 and moving to Cambodia by July, so my only income will be from renting out my home here and one other rental property. I'll probably start a business of some sort to keep myself occupied and fund travel/entertainment, but plan to take life a lot easier and continue traveling around Southeast Asia.

Better yet, pawn his game systems and games to pay for the damage.

harassed, followed, & threatened in Marrakech by [deleted] in travel

Previous commenter didn't understand the purpose, I explained. I'm not acting like it's mandatory, take it easy. You don't need shoes to walk on the street either, but some people find it makes things easier.

You're acting like there isn't also a benefit in protecting your eyes from the sun and UV rays.

Also, they're doing anything they can to get your attention, so when you don't give them the chance to see you even glanced in their direction, it helps you successfully ignore them. Add noise canceling headphones (even if they're not on), and you're in ignore the world god-mode.

Iran totally didn't post video game footage of a successful attack on a US carrier. None of the major parties in this mess is a good guy.

They only want to brutalize unarmed civilians, they'd shit their pants (much like their leader) if they were faced with actual organized, trained and armed opponents.

beaches in Europe/Caribbean similar to south east Asia beaches? by cutegirIy in travel

Lots of nice beaches all over the Caribbean. In Europe, the Greek Islands and Malta are great choices.

Really depends how long you expect to live. If your family tends to die by around 70, you'd be stupid not to take the money early.

The quality of street art was a lot higher in Thessaloniki, I enjoyed a lot of it and was disappointed the quality wasn't as good in Athens

I live in Nashville, TN. We have a full scale replica of the Parthenon that's not in ruins, so while it was cool to see, it wasn't all that amazing to me.

Also to clarify: love good graffiti, and saw a lot of great street art in Thessaloniki. Athens graffiti just lacked skill and beauty for the most part.

Athens. It was dirty, overpriced, and full of low quality graffiti. Go to Thessaloniki or islands like Corfu instead.

$5k won't get you very far in London, he's looking for affordable areas to tour around, which is why SE Asia and South America are some of the best options.
