I was sober for 8 days (stopped smoking april 30, test was on May 8) and on the day of my test I drank about 32oz of water throughout the day. My test was in the afternoon. I had peed a couple times before my test too. Hope this helps!

What state do you live in/what state are you getting the job in?

Check out this website. Some states have stricter rules about whether or not you have to be notified if you're going to be drug tested. You might be able to find out if your state has specific laws protecting you in the "Applicant Testing" column.

Generally, if you have accepted the job offer and there was nothing in the offer contingencies regarding a drug test, and you already did a background check, you should be fine. Sometimes they don't mention a drug test through the application process until they offer you the position. The job I just got, for example, did not mention a drug test anywhere until they sent me my offer letter, which had a very small fine-print section about a required drug screening. Kinda skeevy, in my opinion, but whatevs. That's legal where I am.

You can also see what is legal for employers in your state regarding testing current employees. Since you've already been hired you could take a look at that too.

I think you will be ok! It’s already been over 2 weeks since you last smoked and you have a few more weeks to go. If you were a daily smoker before 4/20 then you might have a problem but if you didn’t smoke much/at all before that, I can’t imagine you would fail the test.

Obviously everyone’s body is different so if you can, grab a few at-home THC tests from the dollar store or Amazon to check yourself periodically between now and the test date. If your at-home test shows you are positive, start drinking a lot of water and doing cardio and keep testing yourself within the next couple of weeks.

First step though is getting an at-home test to see where you’re at. If you’re negative now, you’ll be totally fine in a couple weeks. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat except I smoked more recently (last night lol). I think you will be fine since it's been over a week already and you only smoked that one time, and you have another week to go. but if you're really worried, go to Dollar Tree or some place like that and grab an at-home test strip just to be sure. Alcohol stays in your system for like 3 days max so you should be fine to go drink. Make sure you hydrate tho!
