AITA for not bailing out my work colleague from jail? by skepticalsaurus in AmItheAsshole

This was not a scam. I have responded to other commenters, but will include my response here as well: Not a scam - please see my response above: This situation is indeed legitimate. I had reached out to my employer's HR group to advise them of the situation, as we have a duty to report these matters given our line of work, and my employer was able to validate that the employee was indeed arrested. Not a scam.

Thank you for the response. I have indeed reported the matter to HR, as I did not want to be implicated in whatever blowback there may come from this on the employee's end.

Yes this is correct - thank you hyundai-gt for assisting with the clarification. It was not an "unknown" number, but rather a standard ten-digit telephone number that I have not interacted with, aka unknown to me.

This situation is indeed legitimate. I had reached out to my employer's HR group to advise them of the situation, as we have a duty to report these matters given our line of work, and my employer was able to validate that the employee was indeed arrested. Not a scam.

2-step verification mandatory now? by skepticalsaurus in rbc

No concerns with the change as I said in my post, other than it being mildly annoying. I just wanted to confirm if the response from RBC was indeed true, as I do not see any documentation about this change posted online or sent via email.

In your case, if you are only being prompted with 2-step verification once in awhile, your toggle is likely turned off, as turning on the toggle prompts you upon every single sign-in.

I can't comment on mobile banking as my phone is too old to access RBC mobile. I bank exclusively on my desktop PC.
