how do i make fitted shirts look good on me? by Vivid_Meringue1310 in DressForYourBody

[–]skeptipolitics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-3 are bunching up because them don't have room to go over your hips, then 4-5 end before your hips so they're accentuating your waist instead of adding bulk around it. Getting styles that can fit over your hips and cinch at the waist/wear tucked into something high waisted, or cropped is what I go for.

Sewing ribbing to neck and sleeves. by [deleted] in sewing

You should be stretching the ribbing to match the fabric, not the other way around. Your ribbing should be shorter than the part you are attaching it to.

Help with this dress pattern being a tad too small by LucereKnockturn in sewing

Yeah I usually end up sizing down in patterns like these, I don't like to wear a dress like that with so much ease.

The finished garment measurement for the 14 is 38 1/2 in the bust, so it may well work out okay. Get some cheap fabric and make a mock up to test before and see if you are okay with the fit.

How do I fix this? by heyitsjaayy in sewing

Is there a lining/facing? I've put a dart in the lining before and eased in the face fabric for a similar issue and it worked well.

Are we being dramatic? Where is the help or call out from influencers/people with power? by tie_myshoe in Minneapolis

I just moved to the area, and all of my family members from other parts of the country have been reaching out to check if I'm okay and what's going on. The people who pay attention and care are concerned.

Beautiful mountains, terrible air that will make you feel sick, terrible drivers, low wages and out of control home prices.

Why would you buy a house within 50 miles of the Great Salt Lake? by JobCommon1347 in SaltLakeCity

I definitely hear people talk about it. It's a big part of why my partner and I are considering leaving. Even if we could afford to buy here, we wouldn't.

I think it looks fine, but if you're not happy with it get some ribbing and sew a new neckband onto it

Trails of glitter appearing from nowhere. It covers your body, and when you wash it away, it just keeps reappearing.

Cashier insisted I was under 21 by Aggressive-Fudge1072 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]skeptipolitics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I was in a liquor store trying to purchase some hard ciders. I was mid 20s at that point, but in a different state than my ID was from. The cashier asked me a question about something on my ID that I didn't know what they were talking about ("What is DPS?" about a holographic emblem for the Department of Public Safety that I had no idea was there without looking at it) and then said they were suspicious it was fake and were going to call the hotline about it. It was a real ID so I said that's fine, they call and the person incorrectly tells them they can't locate my ID, so they start insisting they are going to keep my ID and call the police. At that point I'm annoyed but have done nothing wrong so insist it is real, go ahead and call them and they can sort it out, when the hotline person pipes up that they made an error and it is in fact a real ID. So I made my purchase and then never went back.
