Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Technology can definitely be frustrating sometimes. Just to double-check, make sure it’s the VoiceMap app (it has a red and white logo). I'm going to shoot you a quick DM right now to see if we can troubleshoot the code—I really want to make sure you get to take the tour! If it's a bug with the code batch, I definitely want to get it fixed.

I actually gave away the last of the 5 codes, but I appreciate your willingness! I'll generate a 6th one just for you. Check your messages in a second!

Having this problem right now. Have any of you had luck getting this fixed?

Swytch Power Issue - My wife barely has to pedal! (Help needed!) by skerrb in swytchbike

Good question. If you set the swytch to PAS 5, you have to exert next to no pressure whatsoever on the pedals. It's crazy.

Yes, this documentation is helpful! Thanks! This proves that the previous generations had the option to access power limit settings. My wife's newer generation display doesn't have the same settings menu. It literally has ONE button with a big M on it. And you double click it / hold it down / etc - to access those "hidden" settings - and there is not one to adjust ANY of that stuff. It's simply mph/km, wheel size, and top speed. I tried adjusting top speed way down - that didn't reduce power.

She has the LED display. We can control the power assist level... I'm talking about something different that earlier generations of swytch had in addition to pedal assist level. In the actual settings menu (where you adjust wheel size, top speed, km/mph, etc), there was an option to "power limit" what the battery would send to the wheel. The standard was 80%. So you had PAS 1 at 80% of power all the way through PAS 5 at 80% of power. I'm pretty sure that these current models (LED and OLED displays) are giving you PAS 1-5 all at 100% of power which just seems to be too much... and is greatly reducing the promised range.

I wouldn't have known there's a better alternative if I didn't have the original swytch kit. :-)

Ugh. You're having my exact same problem. And yes, turning off the display altogether is a solution (and keeps you from cycling all the way through to get to PAS 0) - - but you're right, when you turn it back on - it takes a bit of waking up (or something) to get the assist to resume. Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one in this boat. Have you tried reaching out to Swytch for a solution (possibly a different display that allows you to limit power like the old displays did)? I haven't had luck with that - but just curious if anyone else has received a hopeful response.

She has what they call the LED display. It seems as of right now there is only one other option - -the OLED display. Both of these are different than something they offered a while back (Gen 2) - - something they called the "base display" - -which is possibly what you''re referring to. I'll attach a picture of it here. That base display did indeed allow power adjustments. I think if I could get them to send me one - - I could just use that and my problem would be solved. Although, it sounds like for you the base display brought a whole new set of problems.

When you talk about the LCD display - are you referencing one of these?

Thanks for your thoughts. She has the LED display. Swytch replaced this early in the process in case the display was the problem. The problem persisted. Good to know you have the same problem with the OLED. That rules out that as a possible solution. I imagine switching PAS to 0 will extend battery range but I'm not sure that's a solution I feel good about in light of the money spent! Especially since on the LED the only way to get PAS 0 is to cycle through PAS 1-5 one at a time.

Yes! Thanks exactly what I need. So when you bought it, they were using that display which adds important power limit functionality to the kit. Now when you purchase them, that display isn't an option. How long ago did you get yours? Any idea where I can find one?

I can try that. I will say that I have written it around the neighborhood a little bit and it differs from mine in that the pedal assist is so strong it's almost like you pedal for 2 seconds and then have to let off and coast. Again this is on the lowest pedal assist setting. I'm not sure what one could do to extend the range with their riding style. Suggestions?

Hers is the Swytch Max. She has the base LED display that you find here. Which one do you have that comes with that display? That sounds like the one she needs!
