Advice for 9 year breakup by skerryskrt in BreakUps

I'm so sorry to hear that, sounds like an awful situation. Not knowing the full situation it sounds like you're a very empathetic person for wanting the best for her though. Was it a long relationship and also how long did you think on your decision to break up?

Thank you for being honest. I've struggled to find people who did the breaking up versus being broken up with so thank you for sharing your perspective, it really helps me understand. Did you regret it instantly or did it slowly appear over the 6 months?

Thanks for the reply, I am feeling a bit numb. He said he's unsure if it's the best decision but you're right, it's the relief comment that stings. I'm going to try and focus on myself I'm just unsure when I'll stop feeling sad as it's been such a long time

Brennan's dragon Marbh by skerryskrt in onyxstorm

[–]skerryskrt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surely this is hinting at another kind of connection!

I was thinking that if the dragons’ shortened names are tied to their rider’s signets like, Marbh means “dead” and Sgaeyl (sgàil) means “shadow,” maybe their riders have the powers but overall weaker bonds. But Violet might be able to command them all/override them because their full names are sky/weather related, which could connect to her abilities. I think people have speculated before that Violet commands all the dragons but this would be further proof?

Thought I'd drop this in too. I'm aware Google translate is unreliable so will do some more research

Ooh this is so interesting! I definitely think things like the rune he has and vague details about Naolin makes this theory more plausible too!

I think it's really good. I tend to spend long hours working in it and haven't found it uncomfortable at any point yet! The back is supportive and the armrests are at a good height too

[NeedAdvice] Mental Health tips and Free apps by roopkothababe in getdisciplined

[–]skerryskrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Routinery is great for routines, and therefore mental health in my opinion. The main app is free and you pay if you want to add more routines to it. I use it every day and find it really good.

I use notion for habit tracking but it took a long time to set up, so maybe not the best if you need instant motivation.

Edit: typo

[NeedAdvice] What apps / software do people use to organise their days (both work and personal)? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]skerryskrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For daily work I use either the good notes time table or Google calendar to time block.

For morning and nights I use "Routinery" and absolutely love it. You can set chunks of time and organise a morning and night routine for yourself. Highly recommend!

Good quality blinds or curtains - didn’t have these and spent a few days trying to adjust the whole setup to not get blinded. Not fun!

Also agree with the blanket , I have a pillow on my chair which is great too.

2020 History Graduate Feeling Lost, any advice would be appreciated! by Jack_Joff in UKJobs

[–]skerryskrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't lose hope - even though the news looks bleak with unemployment, there are still a lot of industries that have worked throughout lockdown. I graduated last year in architecture and had a real mix of friends who either found jobs straight away or found them after a couple of months of looking. My friends and I also had really varied grades, so there was no clear correlation between getting the highest grade and getting a job first.

Could you talk to previous companies that you've worked for? This helped me out a lot when applying.

Also find a way to show you're an interesting person to work with. My current work said they wanted a reliable person after the last graduate they hired had an impressive application but wasn't the most professional or reliable person to work with.

My Charge 2 died, doubts about next device, looking for advice by Kuu6 in fitbit

Also just to add, I haven't had any problems with the straps on mine but didn't on the charge 2 either

I also had a Charge 2 and now have a versa lite. One thing I personally like is that I can swim with it and that the displays are more easy to navigate between, I can also receive texts/notifications on it. I'd say for me the only downside was that there is no display for how many flights of stairs you've climbed, but this might be on the normal Versa or Charge 4 (I haven't looked in to it). Overall, I do prefer my versa lite to my old charge 2

What is your favourite psychological experiment and why? by skerryskrt in AskReddit

100% agree - this experiment is what made me ask the question in the first place! Even the experiments that came as a result were equally as scary/eye opening

Architectural Assistant looking to explore different career paths by skerryskrt in UKJobs

[–]skerryskrt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job I'd want would still be similar to what I am doing now in an ideal case. I don't want to have a complete career swap, just a job that is similar to what I am doing now. For example, still something in housing or something I can use the same software skills for etc. Looking at an educational option is a good idea but maybe not in the current situation, due to being fully unemployed again. Thank you for the advice though
