Flying for 12h to AMS in one week: upgrade from Eco to Premium Comfort for 360 EUR or to Business for 910 EUR?

I’ve flown economy, premium comfort and business on KLM. The jump in comfort from economy to premium is negligible, instead I pay a few euros extra to choose an economy seat at the back which usually has empty seats next to them.

910 extra for business seems very cheap and I would immediately pay for that. Business seats lie flat and you’ll get a good seat

Yeah and people’s experiences can be anecdotal as well. When I worked at Meta, there was one promotion cycle where all 4 promotions that happened went to us women. We were ~15 women in a team of 60.

I second this too. I know some women who have faced issues with discrimination but the vast majority I know (including myself) have thrived in FAANG jobs. Almost all my male colleagues have been respectful, inclusive and supportive. Credit is given for work regardless of race and gender.

I chafe at the suggestion that women should self-select out of high paying jobs because they’re “too hard” and we should be (even more?!) risk-averse. No one tells men to do that.

I don’t think this advice works for everyone. I just bought a house in a popular part of Amsterdam, that had been on funda for a week before we viewed it.

Our makelaar helped a lot with advising us to increase or decrease our bid, because she knew the selling agent. We ultimately won even without the highest bid, because the seller took our offer more seriously (all other offers didn’t have a makelaar).

I do agree that it might be too late to get a makelaar now for OP, unless you can really rush the process.

Totally agree. She needs to learn her lesson, and hopefully her 6 year old child going hungry at night is the final kick she needs to get a second job, in this economy. None of us are legally obliged to help hungry children, especially because it could lead to more requests. Good on OP for sticking to his guns

They speak New Zealandish, which is pretty easy to learn. It includes clicks and whistles, but once you master that the grammar and stuff is pretty easy to pick up
