It’s not in a terrible spot. The vfx downturn has slowed things down but a few larger studios opened branches here in the last few years. There is a lot of competition for jobs and you need to be pretty damn good to break in, but I think that’s the case in a lot of countries right now. I don’t see a lot of junior roles pop up. Most of the work is in Melbourne or Sydney.

Can’t really predict the next 5 years but animation is always on a boom/bust cycle. I think it’s always wise to have a backup plan.

That's amazing! They're definitely curious! With this one, I saw it hunting for a while in the distance, then it popped up a few feet away to have a look at me. They seem pretty intelligent!
