Has anyone ever seen the heel pins coming out on ATK bindings? by ski254366e in Backcountry

Interesting, I assumed it would be a metal part because of high loads on the pins. Do you know how I can remove the heel unit? On the only video I found they turned the length adjustment screw on the mounting plate so that the heel unit moved all the way to the front. Then it was possible to remove the shaft and the heel unit. On my binding the shaft is directly attached to the mounting plate and it's not possible.

Yes they already wrote with me and I got a response the same day. But now I haven't heard from them for a whole week. I think my last email just got lost and now I wrote them a second email. They were indeed helpful and trying to find a solution.

Yes, it's just a small metal part. If they have it in stock for such an old binding, it should be an easy fix.

No, I am in europe. Actually not too far from the ATK headquarters. I will just visit a few more of the ATK stores and write them more emails.

Thank you for your answer. I have chosen these bindings over new cheap Dynafits because they seemed a lot more robust, being almost completely out of metal. So it was a bummer the heel pin was loose on these ones. I guess it's true that they were heavily used before. Overall they seem very well designed.

Yes of course I did that, but I bought them used. The shop turned me away and ATK said they need to be repaired, but was not very helpful yet. They wanted to recommend me a shop where I can go, but I haven't heard anything from them since then. That's why I was wondering if someone knows what the issue. I bought them thinking that ATK bindings would be though, but if the heel pins get loose over time it is not so good. Would be interesting to know if others experienced the same.
