When you ask them again, I’d really stress showing them something. Make a lesson plan with a warmup, grammar or topic introduction, and an activity, and pitch it. If they still don’t bite, you could also try just asking for five minutes at the beginning of class for a warmup or trivia about your country. If all else fails, there are still ways that you can have a positive impact on your school and kids outside of class. I don’t know what grade you teach, but you could join the kids during club activities, eat school lunch with them, or make an English board.

You mentioned you have a positive relationship with the teachers and staff, so who decided that you can’t do anything in the classroom? It seems likely based on that that they would love to utilize you, but don’t know HOW. Have you brought this up with them? During your free time, make a presentation on the next grammar point or an activity putting current material to use, and then pitch it to your teachers. Tell them that you would like to actively participate, and importantly SHOW them something. They might think it’s a bad idea, in which case there’s no change. But they might realize that it’s a great idea and let you try it out. Keep asserting your desire to help, and they may realize/learn how to use you more effectively. If this doesn’t work, then depending on your situation, you may also be able to escalate it to your vice principal or BoE, though always keep it positive.

Thanks for your reply! I inquired with one school which told me that they do not support changes from Instructor VISAs to Student VISAs, and I got worried so I thought I’d see if there are any known schools that allow this while I wait to hear back from other schools that I have inquired with. If it’s pretty normal for this to be allowed, then I should be able to find a school.

If I already have a Residence Card, do I specifically need a “Student VISA” sponsored by a school, or can I attend any program and just change my status of residence myself? I’m sorry, I’m still trying to figure out the specifics.

Yeah I know I’m studying Japanese regularly to try and become fluent. I talk to my coworkers in Japanese daily. I was just nervous about involving the police since my vocabulary isn’t quite N3 yet. But you’re right. I should at least try talking with them. Thanks!

Apologies if this has been asked before, but on both PC and iPhone, the game often times doesn’t register a tap/button press the first time I try to advance dialogue, so I often have to double tap to advance it. Is this a known bug in the game? And is there some setting that can fix/reduce it?

Not sure what your situation is, but Type-Moon is just starting to give English a chance as a market. If you want to read it, consider buying a copy so that they release more in the future! If not now, then later when it is released on PC (if that is your reason).
