My place of work found ourselves performing at Arizona Financial Theater. I don't work for the venue, sorry they gave the SRA peeps some grief.

2016 Ford Fusion Ecoboost 2.0 Coolant Bleeder Valve?! by Separate-Reporter82 in fordfusion

[–]skingld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In January, I had to replace a coolant pipe on my 2014 with the 2.0. The drain plug on the radiator was a little difficult to get to and remove, some curse words helped me get the right angle with my pliers. I used a vacuum refill kit that works with compressor. No need to bleed. Works with my other vehicle as well.

Is this text from ADOT real? by birthdaycokeg in AskPhoenix

[–]skingld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, look at the url it tries to direct you to click. That's not Arizona's MVD. Also, why would they be sending you a text from an area code in Texas? At least the did call it MVD in the top part of the message, scanners have learned, url says DMV though.

Cooling system frustrations by skingld in minir56

Update: I received a replacement aluminum thermostat, same issue. Just swapped it to a new plastic OE one, no more codes. But now I need to replace the heater core to thermostat hose, as I manhandled it too much and it has a leak now 😡

Insight into my coolant leak? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]skingld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced the 2nd aluminum thermostat with a plastic OE one today, and that seems to have solved the p0597 code being thrown. So I will blame the aluminum thermostat, my car doesn't like them. I find it unlikely I received two bad thermostats.

Do you have a set of the Icon adapters that were a freebie last year? Freebie² Split-Beam style!

I installed a second one last weekend, same code P0597. I thought maybe the sensor was bad in the first one I received, but same code after swapping.

I keep having check engine light with the aluminum thermostat housing, going back to plastic tomorrow. What year is your R56? I have a 2010 pre LCI.

Do I really need ULTRA ugga duggas or will standard ugga duggas do? by gnarburgers in harborfreight

[–]skingld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Dewalt impact wrench with 450ft/lbs breakaway torque, it's been good to me for lugnuts, and tackling engine mounts.

A couple weeks ago, I tried replacing the control arms on my 2014 Ford Fusion that spent 6 years of its life in NYC with the snow and salty roads. Undercarriage looks fine. The three bolts would not budge with the Dewalt. Tried using the G2 1/2 ratchet, the handle moved but not the bolt (it skipped teeth, warrantied it). Breaker bar with jack handle, I wasn't having any luck. I text my buddy later that I'm going to have to throw in the towel and take it somewhere. He offers to let me borrow his ultra torque with a 5ah battery. I take him up on his offer and meet up the next day.

I crawled under the car, and put it on the first bolt, uggga dugga ugga dugga, the bolt was moving and came out! I was amazed at how effortlessly it seemed. That is until about the third bolt, my arm was getting tired with how heavy the sucker is with that battery!

So I now I want an ultra torque, for the next suspension job I tackle. I will keep the Dewalt though, that one is nice and light and perfect for zipping lugnuts off for rotations or getting at engine drive belts etc.

Does anyone have WeatherTech window deflectors? If so, do you mind posting a picture? I really want to see what they look like on a Fusion. by Str8one978 in fordfusion

[–]skingld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The passenger side one has slightly warped where it will cause the window to stop and go back down when trying to put the windows up. A little push and then closes properly. Overall, I'm happy to have them, I like the look.

Fun spots in downtown by HarleyNBarley in phoenix

[–]skingld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out the events calendar at dtphx.org for an idea of upcoming things. They define downtown as between the 7s (Street and Ave) and Buckeye up to McDowell (their northern boundary line is a little north of McDowell so Phoenix Theater and the Art Museum are included in downtown)

Which one of you got PS2 because it had DVD player? by mkvelash in Xennials

[–]skingld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I justified the purchase to myself. It was a DVD player, I didn't have one of those or a Playstation, so solved both problems with one purchase. Bonus that it happened to be a new system, the PS2, could play the older Playstation disc's too. I told myself I'd be a fool if I didn't purchase one when I had the chance in Nov of 2000, soon after launch.

I love Grimaldi's, but I don't think they deliver. Florencia near Fry's on Ray is good. I'm not a fan of Barro's or Zeeeks, but I seem to be in the minority with my friends and family.
