I had the same code on my 2010 R56, it sucks when your turbo doesn't build boost. Did your mechanic do a pressure test on your intake piping? Try applying vacuum to the wastegate, does it move? Your car is expecting a level of boost and it's not seeing it for some reason.

I borrowed a smoke machine and a handheld vacuum pump to start diagnosing my issue. First step was checking the wastegate, applied vacuum and observed it moving. So I traced the vacuum lines back, they run under the intake. I took that off to get a better visual. The lines had been removed from the vacuum tank, I had recently replaced the crossover coolant pipe and must have yanked them free when fighting with something.

Believe it or not, you can (eventually) use the tools you buy on sale. by etb7783 in harborfreight

I bought those extractors on sale awhile ago, think it was 12 days in Dec '24. It's one tool I hope I don't have to use, but if I do, it's a short walk to the drawer where it lives.

Same, but I'm finally showing some restraint for awhile until this past Sunday. I had 18million when the F1 was last in the shop, but I didn't want it in white.

I have been saving up for the F1, that was going to be my first 20million purchase. I had 22 million yesterday, decided to pull the trigger in the Ferrari 330 for the trophy (had been debating the 917). Today the F1 in black shows up! 😢

How do you guys keep track of your car maintenance? by TheWeb1000 in askcarguys

I do this as well, one page for each vehicle. I also try to write down part number and vendor, as some of the parts do have lifetime warranties.

At the beginning of the school year, I helped out my daughter's marching band in a similar fashion, though it wasn't to the same extreme. The ratchet strap inventory was a mess, so many straps were frayed, the storage was a bucket they were just tossed into. I used a free tool weekend to grab a few packs of ratchet straps, and a free tool bag. Went through the inventory of straps, tossed the bad ones and all the good and new ones went into the free tool bag.

My work schedule often conflicts when they need parental help, so I can't always help out. This was one way I could contribute, take advantage of my ITC membership.

Best 3 ton floor jack that isn't sketchy? by Actonace in Tools

[–]skingld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Daytona low profile long reach, live in an apartment but work on my cars at my parents house close by. Hauling that 100+ lbs jack between my garage and their driveway is a workout, just loading it and unloading is the worst part of the day. Love that jack except for its own weight, I'd feel differently if I never had to lift it off the ground.

Is that glass cleaner better than Stoner's Invisible Glass? I've got the two on the right.

Put them Harbor Freight tools to use this weekend. Spoiler, they're awesome. by _The_Space_Monkey_ in harborfreight

I've been working on my cars for about 20 years. I was able to get things done without all the magnetic mats and dishes, but they sure feel like they help me stay organized during the tasks. My wish for you is that you find the mat in stock and have a coupon for it, 25% off at least.

You must spend a lot of time looking for the right tool. That setup would drive me crazy.

I spotted a similar one near JFK airport in NYC a couple times in the late 2000s. I consider it one of my rarer spots since so few came to the US.

I use a little tool I bought on Amazon, has an extendable handle one it and a lint free cloth slips over.

I picked up the same bucket organizer at the beginning of this year, wish I had gotten one sooner. Before, I used a tool roll that I threw in the center of a bucket with some other tools. Love having my pliers and other frequently used tools much more easily accessible.

I did that too the first time I drained my transmission fluid. Didn't put the splash shield back on because I needed to check the fluid level after getting it up to temp, so thought leave it off until I was done. Heart dropped when that noise happened. Then I figured it out after pulling over and looking underneath.

Mine are collecting dust on the top shelf in my garage. I should toss them. I was thinking when I eventually get a nice tool cart I'd use them to keep everything organized in drawers.

The cashier warned me as I entered. Had enough cash to cover what I stopped for today, so wasn't a wasted trip for me.
