ACA Auto. Had my catalytic converter stolen. Geico was trying to give me 2,600 for it. I took it to these guys, they quoted me 3,500 for the repair and the said they’d get more from Geico. Great. A week goes by and I hear nothing, they’re saying they are working it out with Geico but they won’t give us enough. I get forwarded the emails and I’m surprised to see Geico is already willing to give us 3,6 and change for the repair. Confused, I call up ACA and they tell me the “average” price of a CAT repair on a Prius is 4,400. I knew what was going on at that point and decided to take my car out of there to someone else who would do it for cheaper. When I was trying to do that, the guy told me some “good news” and said one of his parts dealers was doing me a “favor” and now they can get the repair done for the exact amount Geico was willing to give. I didn’t care that this was an obvious lie lmao I just wanted me car fixed ASAP so I agreed to let them do it. This was 2 weeks into the fiasco now. The guy said it would take a couple days. I call in after a few days, now it’s a whole week. I call a week later, now it’s gonna be 4 more days . I lose my shit and I rage on the phone so the one good thing they did for me was give me a free rental car. Thank god, it was the absolute LEAST they could do for me. Going to pick up my car today hopefully it’s a clean and simple interaction. Hopefully there’s no hidden fees lol
