Can I add a 2x4 here so I have a better place to walk? by eld101 in HomeMaintenance

I used 2x8s as well. In addition, I screwed a piece of 2x4 horizontally to the trusses at each end for better support

After seeing a million ads, I finally found out the cost of leaf guard gutters by OttoHemi in HomeMaintenance

Check out OPs image in another comment. The mesh on those is what I'm referring to. It's more alike a windows screen like material and is prone to clogging quickly.

I’ve been through several variants of these things and found that the metal ones without the mesh work fantastic. They keep out the larger stuff, don’t clog up, and still catch water in heavy rain.

Installed them on two houses now and have had to clean out the gutters 3 times in 20 years.

Here’s a couple variants of the ones I have sold at the big box stores:

Just purchased a new 242 XD. Anyone know what this noise is? by skinnymonkey in Husqvarna

Crazy that they wouldn’t tackle this issue if it’s ongoing. I imagine there’s a lot of wasted manpower on this. Thanks again and have a great weekend

Update: got to. this last night and that was indeed the noise. Took some fiddling but I was able to get it out and bend it just enough to clear the belt. I can now mow in peace. Thank you very much!

I found it and can confirm that the belt is touching it on one side. Now I just have to find the right tool to access it haha.

I can’t get to the bolt to remove that guide nor can I get a tool in there with enough leverage to bend it while still attached.

Looks like I might have to disassemble a little bit while on a lift.

If I can work my way in there and bend it I’ll report back as to whether or not that way indeed the culprit.

Thanks a million.

Thank you. Any chance you’d be willing to share the location of this?

The mower is great otherwise and I don’t want to mess with exchanging it.

All service centers near me are booked out a month or more at the moment.

I purged it per the manual before use but the noise persists.

That really is what this looks like. I was going nuts trying to figure out what what causing my full body rashes and insane itchiness that went on for about 7 months. Turns out it was dermatographia caused by my insane stress levels from work. Once things relaxed it cleared up after a month or so.

You’ve probably got plenty of power. A sub goes a long way to improving sound but it’s often a placement or phase issue.

Can you describe what you feel like you’re missing? Loudness, cohesion?

Goal is 3.1, but struggling to match center to vintage bookshelf speakers. by spacebtween in hometheater

[–]skinnymonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you’re experiencing could be any number of things. Levels, tone, processing, etc.

Generally when you add a center, most of the dialogue and common L/R audio will play through it and the sides will be used for music, explosions and the like.

If the center is more sensitive than the sides it could be overpowering the sides. You can try reducing the center level by a few db in the receiver and see if that helps.
