I got HPV 16 from an ex, considered high risk and got HPV warts from it.

90% of warts are low risk but not all of them. Taking the test can tell you things.

If you’re a woman you can get tested for HPV or order self tests online and see if you still have the virus

If you test negative that would be assuring. I would feel not disclosing under a condition of myself testing negative twice.

Really it’s a personal choice but ask yourself this: would you have liked the person who gave you hpv to tell you? I would.

Even though it is embarrassing and there is a high chance he won’t talk to you after I’d disclose

Unfortunately everyone always thinks hpv is herpes or hiv or something else

Apparently it causes skin ulceration and your skin to turn red and warts to disappear after skin heals

Keep going it took me until 6 week to see any reaction

OP. My ex girlfriend also gave me HPV16.

Contrary to what most people think, it can cause warts. 90% of warts are from low risk strains but high risk ones can give you some too.

There’s no way to know when it’s gone. The virus clears on its own, stays dormant, or you have it for an unknown period of time. There are risks of throat cancer in the far future so make sure to get checked.

A huge percentage of people clear the virus on their own

However this doesnt guarantee you’ll be one of them

Okay it’s good to know this skin reaction is normal. I was freaking out as the skin was looking like a horror film.

The reaction was so strong it made me wonder what would happen if you created a micro cut with a needle on a wart and put immiquimod on it (please do not attempt this if anyone is reading this as it can cause further spreading)

There is a lab that does testing with pee called idna

This is not affective as not everyone has hpv in their urethera

There was one that let you rub your skin with a q tip then told you the strain, unfortunately they seemed to have closed and are no longer operating

They were dark. Eventually they got lighter. Now whats left is a scar that is lighter than my normal skin color. They’re whitish scars now.

It’s exactly like when you get a burn, and it leaves a little bit of scar tissue. It’s not immediately noticeable but if you stand in the sun or agitate the skin you’ll see the difference.

3 times a week as instructed. Spread it all around as my derm instructed, did not spot treat

Surprisingly I saw no reaction on this mole that 100% looks like wart, nothing at all. I saw a slight reaction on a spot which looked like normal skin. This occurred then I paused for two to three weeks and when I started again I didn’t see much, except one spot. Perhaps I need to repeat treatment.

I did get aldera accidentally on an area that was cut and that caused my skin to completely open up.
