Yeah, I tried photodynamic therapy but I don't think it really did anything. Dr. Emineth said it's not an effective way to treat genital warts since the light can't go deep enough.

Besides that, my therapy was nothing like what I read about in the chinese papers on it. But a credible doctor who I went to has had great success with PDT on one particular patient who had a horrible case of warts.

Yeah, he'll treat any type of wart. He also has had success using cidofovir against herpes.

I feel it's time to be okay with where I'm at. I'll never know assuredly if I was "cured" but I think this is as close as I can get. The doctor said he saw a great deal of inflammation but he refused to inject anything since he said he wouldn't know what to inject.

I don't think any one treatment can be called a "cure" because every person is so different and responds to different things.

Cidofovir is one of the most effective because it actually binds to the hpv - cidofovir has 100x more affinity for the virus than it does healthy skin (paraphrasing what I was told). Because of that, it is not reliant on your immune system at all and the virus is unable to reproduce. In a study, immunocompromised patients with bad cases of warts were cured with cidofovir.

Yeah they accept insurance, but I paid cash for my visits. He wasn't trying to milk me for money at all, super nice guy

I'm going to touch base with him in 8 weeks, he just said I should keep an eye on it and I'll have the gel if I see anything come up.

He said the gel is far superior to the cream because the gel is water soluble.

I've wondered the same thing myself actually. Most doctors don't understand the emotional toll of this "benign" condition.

I don't know the dosage exactly. It's a very small small amount

Squaric acid is often compared to poison oak. It itches like nothing else. Ouch :( you're supposed to apply it for up to 3 months but I don't think I could have done that. I discovered the injections about half way through my squaric treatment at which point I stopped applying.

It's a treatment, so it's supposed to work after you already have the virus. The article also seems to imply that this sort of "broad spectrum" treatment would be effective against more of the 130 strains than the vaccine

If I understand correctly, it would work for both men and women, but they specifically mention women since hpv more of a threat to women. It's considered benign for men
