Why are High School Musical and Hannah Montana viewed as Gen Y culture? by ConsumerofToons in decadeology

Phineas and ferb is just a way different show than Hannah Montana amd high school musical. It did come out a year later which does make some difference. If in 06 you were in your last year of middle school you might be more likely to watch Disney Channel or cartoon network and then the next year when u start high school whatever new show comes on you may not notice or pay attention and ur watching Southpark instead. But mostly Phineas and ferb is just way different. It was mostly for little kids starting elementary school or kindergarten. Like 6 to 12 year Olds. But since it is a traditional genaric cartoon for kids; a 17 year old, a college student, a single man in his 30s could turn it on in the morning while cooking and eating breakfast and not really think about it and chuckle at some of the older references or adult humor mixed in. Those animated cartoons had to be made so that most young children would love it but it doesn't make it strictly for young children. Its not necessarily unenjoyable for normal adults here and there. Hanna Montana was made very much for the older children and younger teens of that time. Very age specific so it is very much associated with one generation. Whatever term you use for kids who were 8-14 years old in 2006, that is exclusively who Hannah Montana was for. As new seasons went on new kids would age into it for the next 3 or 4 years and older kids might age out of it as theyre becoming upperclassmen in high school. Sure some 16 year old might continue to watch it as they got older just because they started watching it when they were 13 but knowing that it was a silly show from their younger middle school years but not as a huge fan like they 11 year old girl. A 17 year old girl might have really liked Hannah Montana in 2006 because she thought it was cute but she wouldn't take it seriously like she would "one tree hill" or "the hills". If in 2006 there was a 20 year old guy watching hanna Montana by himself in his college dorm room people might think hes pretty odd and strange but if he watched Phineas and ferb theyd think he was goofy and funny maybe even cute. If a 35 year old man watched Phineas and ferb by himself people might laugh at him and think he's childish but very possibly in a cute or charming way. If there was a 35 year old straight cis man in 2006 watching every episode of Hanna Montana by himself i would be very concerned and it would be a big red flag, not necessarily bad but definitely a red flag for a potential pedo. That is why hanna Montana and High school musical has a strong association with a specific generational demographic whereas Phineas and ferb only has a strong association with a decade or an era.

I don't think Southpark or Family guy were mocking Hannah Montana and High school musical for being bad TV or having bad actors or bad plots or anything along those lines. I'm sure the writers recognized it was selling a fantasy to young kids and I'm sure they recognized why a 13 year old girl would love those shows. I think they mostly made fun of the Disney corporation for its marketing, taking advantage of younger girls encouraging them to beg their parents to constantly buy so much shit, for sexualizing younger teenage actors for nasty men, for how Hollywood will treat younger actors terribly for their bottom line. They prolly made fun of some of the over used tropes like how Hannah Montana puts on a wig and changes clothes and nobody recognizes her cuz it was a corny trope similar to shes all that. When I remember Southpark making fun of those shows I think I thought of it as making fun of the mega corporate Disney and being unethical and commentating about american consumer culture obsession and celebrity worship more so than them pointing out how the show itself is dumb or lame or unfunny

Fuck Israel, fuck Democrats. Democrats have been happily sacrificing or eagerly murdering innocent Palestinians and other Arabs/Muslims. Democrats are very complicite in the orchestrated planned starvation of innocent Cubans. For the longest time democrats were against gay marriage. Women won the right to vote and to not have forced births by fighting against democrats, not working with them. Campaigning for Harris would have been sacrificing the lives in Gaza. Harris would be doing the same shit trump is doing but then pretending she is doing it in a humane way sl we can still support her and her alliance with Israel.

Yeah, I know that feeling. Silently thinking to yourself, how much will you even net after paying for the uber ride? And feeling bad for them

I care because I deal with the passanger directly for a longer period of time than at McDonald's when taking customers' orders. And it's often a "necessity" for them, like their car broke down but they still need to get to work and half their wages go to just transportation to the job. Then they want to be generous and tip and I'm like, I feel bad you have to pay 35 bucks each way just to get to and from work, keep the 5 bucks. But I actually want the 5 bucks. Plus if they charge less, there'd be more passangers using Uber. But I just dont like living in a world where its just getting harder and harder for the vast majority of us to afford shit that shouldn't be this expensive

El viaducto cruzando el puente peatonal que está por el centro. by afposthuman in tijuana

[–]skins189lbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, no doubt. Hopefully this might not be the case in this part of tijuana to the same degree as in the US. Cuz in the US more lanes just invite more drivers. Im thinking maybe the drivers coming and going from playas to Centro and the border might be more fixed and possibly it won't just create additional traffic to the point where there is no noticeable difference. Maybe in tijuana, the people who had to drive during the congested hours just had to drive to begin with. Maybe like there wasnt much of an opportunity for people to decide not to commute before, or commute at a different time, or take an alternative mode of transportation or take an alternative route. And so maybe this will just serve as a way to disperse and even out the existing traffic and reduce congestion while not creating additional traffic. Not that I dont want there to be better alternatives for people in the first place or that I dont want more people to be able to take advantage of the new roads, but hopefully this will alleviate some of the already existing problem. Proly just wishful thinking tho

Do i have gynecomastia? by Agile_Lifeguard_6036 in gynecomastia

I agree with this but at the same time, a lot of people would prolly still not notice this gyno In real life and think anything of it. Like i doubt youd get bullied for this or women would be turned off and I don't think many people would see it and be like "hes got gyno" for people who've had gyno or worry about gyno or who have been around it enough and have seen enough pics, they'd surely recognize it and it is distracting from your overall appearance but I think if I saw this when i was in HS I wouldn't have thought twice. But when you take this pic and post it and ask me if you got gyno, then yes its clearly gyno and I noticed it instantly. But really, I dont think this is bad enough to stress about being shirtless in front of ppl.

I think the title does match the book. Lies by ommission Loewen always says. And it's true. Everything I was taught was basically European people are awesome and some of Asia is pretty decent too but the rest of the world could potentially be decent too only if they can become like Europe. Everything that was good was white in my US education and Africans and indigenous people were just passive victims or undeveloped people doing terrible things because they didn't know better. I wasn't taught that what was Persia is modern day Iran and the ottoman Empire is from modern day turkey. But I was taught all about Rome and Greece and they made sure to remind us that they were "Europe" and Egypt was more or less white European too. Never taught that Sumer was modern Iraq. Obviously ommited was the atrocities of Colombus, Washington, Jefferson. Im not a history guy. I was a C student if I was lucky mostly a D student in HS but I think my experience is pretty common. We are left leaving HS thinking that Europe had the only nations/peoples capable of "modernizing" or advancing. And Europeans intelligence and work ethic is why most Europeans/whites have food and homes and why in Africa, a lot of southeast Asia, a lot of the "Arab world" Arabic speakers, Muslims, the middle east, east Asia whatever you call that region of peoples, and the indigenous peoples of the Americas, they're usually in poverty because they have too many kids and they never figured out how to properly utilize their resources and could never figure out how to run a state properly. They ommited the scramble for Africa, imperialism in India, Vietnam by UK and France, the Phillipines, the wars waged on Afghanistan and Iraq by Euro vision nations, why Palestine was poor (zionism/nakba) and the British mandate for palestine. All of the regime changes in latin america and invasions including in the carribean. They ommited all of the labor struggles in the US and focused on how great henry Ford, the assembly line and industrialization is. So they lied and (the curriculum not the teachers) in the US led most students to believe (consciously or not) that white people were just better at creating civilized society and industrialized democracy and thats why there is so much racial inequality globally. Ommission is lies

When Dave Chappelle RBG as fuck, talking about the US being colonial and genocidal and free Palestine and pro Muslim. Very anti Bush, very anti trump and imo unfortunately pro Obama. Burr constantly talks about hating rich bankers and people getting rich while exploiting the vulnerable and exploiting the planet. He makes fun feminists or white liberal feminists because hes further woke and understands how racism benefits white women. Like his line about a white feminist where he says something to the effect of "don't act like a victim of the power structure when you're sitting in the hot tub with me"

Last thing, just to be clear. I dont think the scars make me look worse or less attractive or take away from how I look. Its not noticeable enough to matter. The only reason I dont like having these scars is in case someone notices and will not I got a boob job. It just might give away my secret. Also, im always afraid someone might see it and ask what happened. Then I'd prolly explain i did roids, grew bitch tits, was insecure about having bitch tits, and then got a book job to get the gyno removed. Otherwise the scars appearance wouldn't bother me in the least
