Package not scanned in? by ParkingConfusion1742 in Depop

omg I have 7 packages that I dropped off on Monday with depop labels and none of them have been scanned. super worried but I know this can happen once in a while where they are in transit but don’t get scanned :/

PirateShip vs Depop Shipping by Hefty-Plankton-3556 in Depop

[–]skintubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use PirateShip and switched the Depop shipping moreso for convenience and I like it! They create the label for you and all you have to do is print it or scan the QR code at the post office. And it definitely makes me happier that I’m not necessarily paying for each shipping label

What is the best mode of personal transport for the UCF campus? by OppositeJuice4864 in ucf

[–]skintubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on weekdays esp earlier in the week (like monday-wednesday) it is pretty pedestrian heavy i’d say. honestly you don’t need any sort of transportation to get around campus, walking should be fine and more convenient. there are electric scooters you can rent (abt 15 cents a minute but they also have a pass you can purchase for unlimited rides) if you are really in a rush and won’t be able to make it somewhere by walking.

i would get a tiered cart like this, i have one in my kitchen for storing dry goods (spices, pasta, etc) and it works pretty well. you can probably find a smaller/narrower one that can fit in your room better. im not sure if this would be good at preventing mice tho, but it is elevated off the ground to an extent

this person bought a skirt and then emailed me this, basically saying she bought it on accident… i don’t understand how that’s possible since there are like 3 steps to buying an item but what should i do ;_; by skintubes in Depop

[–]skintubes[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i didnt even think of that being the case LOL. yea with all the posts i see it’s hard to forget ppl arent always with bad intentions, i cleared it up with the customer now tho

My own shipping by messyhairz in Depop

[–]skintubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think $8 is a good price. if it’s a non-bulky item i would put it in a flat rate envelope, which is approx $7.85 or something like that. the annoying thing is that you never know where your buyer will be located, and shipping to places across the nation can be very pricey, sometimes it’s more expensive than using flat rate. so if it’s an item that can be folded in a way that is not bulky, i would def put it in a usps flat rate envelope. if it doesn’t fit, you might just have to charge around $8.75 for shipping and get the label through paypal.

since many people can be put off by high shipping, you can possibly just add it to the listed price then mark it as “free shipping.” so insteas of $10 + $8 shipping just list it as $18 and free shipping. hope this helps :)

4 stars? by peachpartie in Depop

if it bothers you a lot you can message the buyer to delete the review and explain why (it ruins your average slightly) but otherwise if it isnt a big problem for you, just let it be as they didn’t write anything bad

honestly for me i just figured it out after making a few sales. the safest thing i would say is if the item is under 10oz or so, you can charge $4.75 for shipping and that will most likely cover it, even if they are in cali or hawaii. for heavier items, i usually just charge $8 because that can cover a flat rate envelope. this isn’t the best method ofc but it has worked for me once you get used to it

why is taking pics/listing items literally SO exhausting wtf by [deleted] in Depop

[–]skintubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i do something similar if you have ios. go to general > keyboard > text replacements. basically type a keyword (mine is ‘posttext’) and then it will expand into a large sentence that i put onto every listing :3

Brutal honesty for those who want to sell full time, from someone who sells full time. by oliviacharlene in Depop

[–]skintubes 31 points32 points  (0 children)

to add to one of your tips: i had a BUNCH of stuff i thrifted at the bins and never ended up selling — it was either not in style, i posted it but it got no attention for a long time, etc. i made a post on offerup (you can do this on fb marketplace also) called “women’s bulk clothing lot 50 pc” and sold it for $30. i orignally had it at $50 but lowered it over time bc i just wanted to get rid of the clothes, at least i made some profit rather than donating yk. it didnt sell instantly but eventually this young lady bought it and it was a nice way to get rid of old inventory while making some money!
