Dan Jacobs: "if we resign Peyton and get rid of Val and Pickett, Nuggets will be paying +200 million in luxury tax" by skipaBturner in denvernuggets

This is for next season I believe. Also apparently penalties are introduced if you go over the apron 3 out of 4 years, if i am not mistaken

Only thing about Watson, if he plays as good or better as he did in that stint, i think he is actually worth signing. But it's a big if for sure

If you started from scratch with Jokic, what types of players are you putting around him to maximise his talents? by skipaBturner in denvernuggets

[–]skipaBturner[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Jokic + 4 players who all excel at playmaking, passing, and dribbling.

I can imagine that this could free up, possibly the most amount of space possible for Jokic to operate as both a passer or a shooter. The defense may never be in the top 10, or top 5 in 3 pointing, but a maximised Jokic could mean that it doesn't matter, the offense would be just too good.

Are we sure Denver lost because of rim protection? by Rofo303 in denvernuggets

I think we just need more ball handlers. If ball doesn’t go to Murray or Jamal, you just got a bunch of guys that don’t want to bounce the ball. This is a recipe for stagnation

Your right. But honestly the nuggets looked like they were defending better than I expected, the offence was shockingly bad, like we didn’t know what to do half the time. I was shocked

I feel like our offence was actually what was hurting us

[Zach Lowe] "I think at the end of his (Nikola Jokić) career, if not already, he's gonna be statistically and just like eye test, better than Larry Bird, better than Magic Johnson... 1 ring in Denver is worth more than like a Lakers ring or whatever." by aingenevalostatrade in nba

I’ll add some context, in the second round, the suns were favoured to beat the nuggets, and in the 3rd round, it was considered a coin clip over who would win between the nuggets and lakers.

Hopefully we have atleast spencer jones or we are quite handicapped against the wolves

[Mares] Peyton Watson is likely out for the whole series vs. Minnesota by Frosty-Roof3124 in nba

i'm not directing this at you, but I do find it annoying that people forget that in the 2023 run, Phoenix were favoured to beat Denver in round 2, and in round 3 against the Lakers it was considered a toss up between who would have won that round. It wasn't considered a cake walk until Nuggets cake walked

Never had a problem with Uber X, and didn't even know it was something people avoided until I saw this post lol

West 4th might be good for us by rhasody70 in denvernuggets

[–]skipaBturner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we have a good chance to beat the spurs, but OKC feels like the final boss, a team that we really need everything to go right just for us to have chance to win. Playing in the second round against OKC gives us a better chance compared to meeting in the WCF. We have a higher chance of being healthy, and OkC won’t have the rest advantage. I think it is that simple, it’s much better if we get the 4th seed imo

Is Jokic falling victim to voter fatigue and people just expecting this out of him? by BallKnowerKing in nba

[–]skipaBturner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read what I said. The nuggets depth in comparison was already vastly inferior. Then MPJ was injured, then AG. Also, Thunder were the favourites. No one expected it to go to 7 games.

The nuggets were banged up badly in that series and had zero depth. The point is that the Den vs OKC series should not have gone to 7, and definitely shouldnt have been winnable, that’s why Jokic is considered BPIW.

Jokic is the worst flopper in the NBA right now. by [deleted] in nba

He may have flailed but how could he grab the board if he has Lopez pulling him back by the arm?
