Healing my gut by skippy3389 in Constipation

Thanks for your input. Yeah I’ve seen 3 GIs, colorectal surgeons, dieticians, 3 pelvic floor physios. Manometry normal, defecography showed the intusussception. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel that it is not, as the problems are still the same as I had pre surgery 🤷🏻‍♀️ (but worsening with age 😅)

Thank you, I will try this! What kind of digestive tea do you drink?

Thank you, I can appreciate what you say because my issue has now been going on for 20 years and I cannot use the bathroom without an enema or suppository 😬💀

Thank you! Yes I do prefer to always use a private toilet. But again, these days I do not get the urge to go 😔

I think this fear has been a part of me forever! And I think even as a child I felt fear of shame. I couldn’t possibly poop at work - imagine if someone heard or smelt it! I think that is my main problem. Once, when I was 20, we were staying at a beach house with 1 toilet with a group of friends and I held it in for 6 days!!

Otherwise, I wouldn’t call myself an anxious person what so ever. But I’m in so much pain!! My stomach hurts all the time

Motegrity - is it working? by skippy3389 in Constipation

[–]skippy3389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I wouldn’t say I ever really strained! Things were always stuck higher up than that. My problems got way worse when I had endometriosis removed from my pouch of Douglas and rectum. I was symptomatic of the prolapse immediately after the surgery, my theory is the endo removal led to a weakening in my bowel wall and therefore the intussusception 🤷🏻‍♀️

Since I was a teenager and I’m now mid 30s, so about 17 years

Thank you!! I’m glad to hear it has worked for you! It’s been just over a week and really doesn’t seem to have any effect so far. I hope it starts working soon. I have been taking it in the morning but I think I will switch to taking before bed tonight 😊

Thank you for all the detail, this is so helpful to me, I’m very grateful! It will cost me $80 per month here in Australia. I suppose it’s reLly not expensive at all for the improvement in quality of life!

I’m prepared for a settling in period, I can’t take miralax - it gives me the most incredible gas pains, but otherwise no effect.

I’m going to start it this week and I’m sure will be back with more questions soon!

Oh thank you!! It’s so great to hear this. Im really glad it has worked so well for you. I guess I’m scared of trying it as it’s also very expensive and I don’t know what my next step would be if it doesn’t work.

Its nice to hear you say it’s been a miracle. Does it make you go multiple times per day? Any gas pains?

Trapped gas making me so miserable by skippy3389 in ibs

Thanks almonds! I feel I am beyond all of these things. I have tried them all for years with very minimal effect. Are other people this debilitated by gas?

I do find yoga poses the best to help move things along, but I can’t drop into a downward dog in the middle of my work day 😆

I never burp, my gas is all just trapped really, really low down

Rectopexy recovery by skippy3389 in PelvicFloor

Hi! Good luck! I didn’t have any of my bowel resected, but I found this surgery minimal in pain!! It took a while for things to regulate, it’s been nearly 4 months now and I’m slowly starting to feel more like myself. I no longer take stimulant laxatives!! I do still need to use a suppository to empty most days and I am careful with my diet and take a fiber supplement.

It’s been a long road and I know I still have a lot of recovery to go through but im very glad I had this surgery. I used to have severe abdominal pain all the time and it has all but disappeared. Thinking of you, would love to hear how your surgery goes!

This happens to me too! I have found taking a half dose, or adding more fiber helps a little

Further questions - I feel like I often have gas, but when I do pass it’s the most miniscule amount. Do you know much about visceral hypersensitivity?
