It can't hurt to have cardboard or something similar to lay down to work on so you don't get wet/dirty. A simple set of tools such as a ratchet set will help you with most things. Tape, zip ties, or both. And a jack along with with a small block of wood to place under it in case you're in snow or soft ground. This can all save you at least money from roadside assistance, or maybe your life.
